Nice guy, boring lectures. Often did work for other classes in here, never read the book but still managed a B. It's not a hard class but it's about as interesting as watching paint dry. The test questions were oddly specific for an intro class. Just remember random dates and you'll be just fine.

Comment:
Hardest public speaking seminar. Expects a lot out of the speeches and has some unfair grading procedures (grades are all over the place). Boring class; nice, although bland, guy in general though.

Super boring, seems unconcerned about whether a student passes or fails his class. If you put in the effort he will notice, but that doesn't mean you'll receive the grade you wanted. I never got an A on any of the homework.

I thought his test questions were really hard and specific. I did okay in this class. I read the first 2 chapters, but stopped because I wasn't getting the quiz questions correct anyway. It was discouraging. He's a nice guy though, I emailed him some questions and he's always get back to me.

There is an iclicker quiz every week and surveys with it every class which makes it mandatory to go or you lose points. The lectures are a little boring, but if you pay attention and read the book, you can manage the tests easily.

This man is honestly clueless. His lectures are painfully boring and when asked to clarify, it is evident that he is unable to.. Takes forever to get grades back. RUDE man. I thought I had seen bad teaching, hands down worst teacher I have had at Umaine. Highly recommend you chose a different prof.

Dreadful. If you want to work as hard as you can for a C, take the course with this guy. Very unfair group grading.

take it with someone else,Uninteresting, Tough grader, no actual reasons for his poor grading, other than " he said so" He has no sense of humor, sucking up doesn't work, just take the course with someone else. His work load is double that of others

Makes everything as unclear as possible. The workloading he gives is way higher than the average ENG 317 class. I would highly recommend you not to take 317 with him

I have gotten a lot out of his class, and it was very worthwhile. He's a decent teacher, but the class as a whole is difficult o get a good grade in. A lot of your grade is based on group work, and he's a tough grader.

He was always in a good mood, seemed interested in the subject matter, and was excited to read our writing...he's kind of goofy, but it's okay. Graded fairly.

Quite possibly the worst professor for this course. Makes things complicated, difficult, and is entirely unable to help. Take it with someone else and save yourself the stress and agony.
