One of the best professors at Acadia. He's really great at explaining the material and is very helpful during office hours. He's so kind, learns everyone's name, and truly wants everyone to succeed. He makes it very clear exactly what to expect on the tests.

Dr. Hooper is a fantastic teacher but I personally felt that he did not teach this course well. Our 50 min lectures were often spent working on 1 example while the other classes were chapters ahead of ours. I took calc in hs and got a 95 without studying, I poured my heart and soul into this course and only did decent because it was curved.

His online course (1533 and 1543) we very helpful in helping learn how to teach math. I don't think all that was covered is likely to be taught to the elementary level, but it gave good insight about the process and explaining it to the students. his feedback was helpful and timely, i would definitly take another of his courses.

Was filling in for the semester for this class. Took electronic notes you could access online but very helpful to attend class. Office hours were excellent and helped a great amount. Made sure to explain any problems you run into. He is insanely good with remembering names.

Okay, so everything is good except he is terrible at following through on his word and expects us to do way more than we should sometimes.

Really great prof! He actually makes math really interesting and explains it really well. He has a pretty good sense of humor. I also like the fact that there is no such thing as a dumb question in his class.

marks easy on assignments, then the midterm is impossible. he offers help but is really no use at all. long, clear explanations, but the prof himself is quite an arrogant ****.

Amazing teacher, ESPECIALLY for a subject like math. He breaks down everything and explains it in a clear and easy way; if you still do not understand he will go out of his way to explain it however many more times just so that you get it.
