The class was not necessarily hard, but class was mandatory. She is openly rude to students. She doesnt offer help when asked, and is so strict during class that she will literally belittle you for not sitting up straight in your chair (Im not joking). In fact I hate this woman so much that Im giving this review FIVE years after I took the class

She doesn't make since and will only respond to Dr. She just kinda rambles on which doesn't make since, then expects everyone to go teach themselves. Then grades really hard. Worst professor do not take this class with her

Worst professor I've ever had. Puts questions on the exam that were never covered in class or was in your book! I remember she based 25% of our final exam on something we learned one day in class, a day I missed. She did not go over this concept again when our class asked what were the major parts of the exam. This concept wasnt even in our book.

She is hands down the WORST instructor in the CPS department. She is very disrespectful to students and asking her questions usually is of no help. This is an intro class and I had a harder time in here than a 400-level Networking course. The assignments aren't too bad but her exams are next to impossible. I do not recommend her at all!!

VERY disrespectful. She is a terrible professor, don't wast money buying the book. All tests are done online and answers to study guides can be found online because they don't even follow what she teaches in lecture. If you take the class make sure you have a PC computer(the software you use doesn't work on Macs and she DOESN'T care.)

Horrible teacher, goes too quickly through power points and is way too fast to take notes. She makes the class very difficult and is very intimidating. Her tests are impossible, and will be on chapters that you haven't learned yet. I would not recommend her.

Assuming you pay attention in class and consult the textbook frequently, this is a very easy class. She's strict because she has to deal with freshmen. If you're of moderate cognitive intelligence, this will be an easy class. Somewhat disrespectful to students, can be intimidating. Better professor than most, however.

The first few weeks of the class, I was not the biggest fan of her. After about 10 kids dropped, she started being nice and caring. She is strict, but it helped me learn a lot more in the long wrong. She's a good teacher, much better than most in the CPS department.

SHE SUCKS! this class is a req. for me otherwise i wouldnt be taking it. she is disrespectful and an overall terrible prof. one ofthe worsts ive ever had. She gives the HW and just expects you to know how to do it. She does write notes but then never goes over them or shows us how to use the commads she just wrote. Change prof's if you have her.

Dr. Shrikhande is great at explaining concepts and provides many examples. She acknowledges hard work and participation. It's a great course if you like problem solving. She can be strict, and will bluntly inform you of all foolish mistakes you may or may not make. Over all I would definitely recommend her and I enjoyed the class very much.

She is the hardest teacher I have ever had. I was scared to go to class and scared to miss class. She would call you out in class and make u feel dumb if u didnt know the answer. Horrible teacher

This class is an intro class and required for my major, having said that.. I've never felt more like an idiot for asking a question in class than with her. She's rude, unhelpful & hard to understand with her accent. I do not recommend this to anyone looking for an easy grade or to take if you're like me and need this for your major.

She sometimes had a questionable knowledge of CPS and was not very willing to work with students. Her classes were almost unbearable to sit through and whenever something might be 'disruptive', she would make it 10x more so with her interruption for it.

I must agree with the comments below.She is EXTREMELY condescending and rude,you cant take it personally.It is a difficult class; if you are taking this for a UP,you will struggle. If you like cs,you will do well.Ignore her rudeness you will learn a lot.Started out with 30 in class ended with 12,once people droped class she became ALOT nicer!

Worst professor of all time. Office hours are hard to come by, she doesn't teach material during class, and she disrespects students. You are attacked when you ask a question, even after she begs for questions to be asked. She takes favorites for females, so you may have that going for you but most don't. Awful.

boring class but easy. The study guide she gives you is word for word what is on the test so its easy to get an A. In the lab for this class the myitlab are annoying and time consuming expecially if you have a mac because you have to use a dell. Stupid class but easy A!

congrats! you have the worst teacher at central! the fact is she is the most disrespectful and rude teacher i have ever had, nothing is exaplained, there is no need to go to lecture besides when she gives pop quizzes that have nothing to do with the class what so ever. she does not care if a student passes or fails, if you get her, GOOD LUCK!
