Comment:
Heavy in teaching theory of the subject rather than the application to real world problem solving. Will often go over the allotted time to explain a concept. Lectures can be fast at some points.

Comment:
Differential equations is a difficult topic; that's a fact. He teaches theory which isn't a bad thing. If you're taking these classes, then you shouldn't be afraid of understanding concepts and working hard. The home work is long, but the tests are very fair. You'll get lost in a lot of his lectures, but he's cool in office hours if you need help.

Comment:
The most theoretical professor I've ever met. Expects the whole class to be mathematicians and gets angry when they don't understand difficult concepts. Tests are generally fair but you will be learning most of the material on your own during the assignments (which if you don't do you won't pass).

Took him for Diff Eqs. Get ready to leave class with a headache and the hope of passing the class. I passed with a decent grade, however, I used online sources and videos to do so. The lectures are SUPER theoretical and could be presented in a better fashion. A decent man, kind of awkward to talk to, but will help you. Tests are generally fair.

He is a very theoretical teacher. If you do not want to learn a major amount of theory and not do work don't take him. but I had him for 220 and 250 and as long as you do your work your fine. plus if you get stuck go get help or read over the book don't be lazy or you will fail

Don't take this class first semester or if you don't absolutely need it, unless you took AP Calc. Requires ALOT of work and alot of understanding of the theory behind calc. You could get all questions right on tests, but still fail because you didn't prove your answer. Before I dropped, the class average was in the low 60s. What does that tell you?

Liked the guy in 140 - very helpful, willing to take questions, go through them step-by-step. But when I had him in 141, he explained things a lot less during pre-class question sessions, became a little less helpful overall and more unclear. Notes were somewhat ambiguous as he stuffed them with lots of proofs. Not bad overall, though.

Frank is not the hardest prof in the world. But if you find yourself stuck in his class, save yourself some paper and don't take his notes. 90% of the time the notes are one big proof and are contradictory to the way most people have learned math. Read the textbook or teach yourself from some online video math sites. The final is not that bad.

I had Marko the Man for Math 141 and earned an A without much trouble. Students tend to dislike him because they are "horrible students" (*cough*) that don't put half the effort that they should. Class was very valuable and entertaining at the same time. My section was filled with mainly science majors, Nate, and a terrorist who would later drop.

Not the easiest class in the world, but he's a really nice guy and tries so much to help you pass. Shows great interest in the students knowing the material because he realizes that most of us need it for our majors. Do not take if you don't like to do a lot of work. If you want your money's worth, this is the guy to take.

Terrible. He is very hard on grading and makes the final exam about 10X harder than his tests. Do not take classes with him.

Had him for calc2 and diff eq's. He is hard, but it's well worth it. If you don't have him for calc1, you're gonna fail or struggle. He is the man, and will help you in his review sessions/office hours. I highly recommend taking him, he knows his stuff. Czech him out, he's an awesome man and makes you learn, otherwise don't waste his time

He tells you the first day of class, more than half of you will fail. Is that anyway to teach a class? Very hard, and he doesn't do a good job teaching either.

He teaches in a method that completely throws off students who had taken a calculus class prior to his. His worst quality is in preparing you for tests, where his example questions will lure you into thinking the exam will be easy, and then have it slap you in the face with its difficulty. He does attempt to make class entertaining though.
