Comment:
Phyllis Salmons has been teaching here at Riddle since the 1980's. She only has 4 test in the class. No HW, no quizzes. If you want a physics teacher you can understand, then take her. BUT. She comes off rude, cant hear, and her test can be very difficult. If you screw up on the first test, then it will be VERY hard to get you grade up.

Does not provide students the tools to succeed. Does not give homework and the tests are impossible to study for. I have a 3.5 gpa and never had to drop a class until taking her. Save your money and avoid this teacher.

She gives a lot examples which makes you feel like you understand the information but then the tests come around and are extremely hard and you get a D on them. Do NOT take her!

Explains everything in class, pay attention and you'll get a good grade. Doesn't give good explanations for notes, never gives homework, doesn't use the textbook, had to be fought with to get practice exams.

No homeowrk, no quizs, all based on four tests. Almost impossible to study for the tests. Gives out 10 to 20 practise questions but won't give you the answers, have to guess and hope you're right. Goes over 5 to 10 practise questions in class. In the end only way to do well is if you have taken a physics class recently

One simple word... USELESS. She is very approachable, but when she teaches the material, she constantly gets off track and talks about useless subjects. There is no homework and no quizzes, but the exams are very tricky. She gives out practice test for each exam, but they are useless because the problems are completely different on the exam.

Great professor and a nice person. She teaches as a lecture. Not much discussion or interaction at all. In teaching a new topic, she starts off easy and works her way up to where we need to be for the test. No HW or quizzes. She gives enough examples to study from. Tests are fair as long as you study and memorize formulas. Had her for PS103 too.

Class was not very hard at all, her entire class period is devoted to doing examples starting from the easiest possible question to the most extreme that could be on the test. Attendance is not mandatory but i highly suggest going for all the notes and examples she gives in class. Show up and copy notes easy grade achievable.

Salmons is EASY, but a useless professor. I was able to make an A w/o going to class except for tests. The book is a much better teacher than her. I wouldn't take her 8am class, she will put you right to sleep with stories of her 100 cats. Fun fact, she is on facebook, but only invites "celebrities" to be her friends, she talks about it every day.

She is really nice person. Inmy oppinion, if you study the questions that she solved in class, you will be good to take a class. She does not have homework, so it can be good or bad. She have 4 test and final exam and she is good but can be grade killer. Good Luck!

Do not recommend taking this class. Very hard to pass. Tests are extremely hard. The way things were taught in this class were by examples of problems. I dont know how shes highly recommended. If you want to fail, take salmons.

Had her in 1983 and still remember her. I was horrible in HS physics and she told me why. My HS was trying to teach 11th graders organic chemistry. Had a bit of trouble in her class at first, but a some tutoring made me into a physics fan. I'm glad to see she's still teaching and wish her the best. If you have a chance to take her classes, DO SO!

I struggled thru PS103. Thought this class was going to be hard. EASIEST class ever. She dumbs down everything so you can easily understand it. But go to class or you will have a difficult time.
