Comment:
Prof Acosta Cruz is one of the best in the department. She is super knowledgable in her subject area, yet humble and approachable. At the same time, she cares immensely about her students and wants them to succeed. She can come off a bit intimidating at first, but she is truly the sweetest around. If you put in effort, any class with her is great.

Wonderful professor who truly cares about us and felt joy in our success. Made it feel okay to make mistakes in class. Assigns a little homework each class. Never more than half an hour

While she's a good instructor and was clearly very knowledgeable on the Spanish language and culture, she was a very petty woman and had little to no respect for the opinions of her students. She asks you to challenge her, but gets very defensive and snappy when you do so. She just isn't the nicest, most understanding professor at Clark.

This prof is great. She challenges you, which is 100% necessary in learning a language, and she is hilarious which makes in-class time very bearable. She knows a ton about Latin America and the Caribbean, and the books she chooses are always great. Had her for 2 upper level Spanish classes.

I didn't like the class. She team teaches it with Marvin D'Lugo, neither care for any opinions except their own. They tell you to disagree with them and they say they want your opinions, THEY DON'T. They shoot you down, no matter how much information you have to support your opinion, you will drop your grade by speaking.

Prof. Acosta Cruz is an ok professor but she is not accepting of outside opinions and is very defensive about student comments. She expects a lot for her students and is usually pretty funny but doesn't have a lot of respect for the students who aren't "great" spanish students

Her 9am lectures are better than redbull... just what does she have for breakfast! She is so great, and really helps you out if you don't know the language. Doesn't make you feel stupid like a lot of native speakers, just encourages you to do your best!
