It is an unofficial writing-intensive course. The instructor requires you to write a 50-100 page encyclopedia. The name of the course is "History of Anthropology." You literally have to write the history of the anthropology A-Z. Do not take it unless you are an anthropology major. Take ANTH 238 or ANTH 279 instead, if you want easy electives.

It used to be a very easy class. You would just come to class, listen to his lectures, and take notes. However, after the school shut down because of the virus, he got lazy. Instead of doing video lectures like other teachers, he decided to give us tons of long readings. He would ask us to find answers from the readings, which are very difficult.

You need to attend class in order to do well in this course. No exams but the encyclopedia is tiresome. Very nice and often times funny. Take good notes but if you're able to record lectures, DO IT. It makes doing the encyclopedia so much easier.

I really liked him. We had one "paper" and everyone got an A+. 1 test, a midterm, and final. All are multiple choice. He let's you do corrections to get 1/3 of the points back. He's funny and knows his stuff. Can talk kind of fast but is willing to repeat if you show you are paying attention. Likes participation.

Easy going professor. All his exams are based on topics and readings he assigns. That being said, if you don't take notes you wont pass. gives you chances to raise your grade.

I loved this class. Prof. Birth lectures the entire class and all you need to do is take good notes. That's the only assignment for this course: compiling your notes into an encyclopedia of information. Lectures are really interesting if you love anthropology!

Dry lectures for morning class. No exams but the encyclopedia is a pain since your grade depends on that. I wish I dropped this class. Get ready to take lots of notes and work hard for that A

Professor Birth is very knowledgeable and chilled out . I took him for Anthro 200. Attendance is not mandatory, no exams, no quizzes just an encyclopedia you have to make from your notes which of course you wont get till you attend the class. So if you want an A then go to class, take notes and make the encyclopedia. Class is boring!

Professor Birth is one of the best Anthropology professors at QC. Although attendance is not mandatory, if you miss a class then you won't be able to put together your encyclopedias, which is what your grades are based on. I really enjoyed his lectures. He made learning about the history of anthropology quite interesting and fun!

It's a pretty simple class to keep up with: just show up, take notes, & fill in the encyclopedia little by little. The only work he gives are the readings before class, and the encyclopedia. I did like 2 readings throughout the entire semester bc he goes over them in class, and filled in the encyclopedia during class, so it felt p easy.

I really enjoyed most of his class. His lectures got a little boring toward the end but overall he is an amazing professor. I learnt a lot in the class. He does his best to make sure you get an A. There are 3 tests and they are all cumulative. I got a C on the second test and I was still able to get an A.

Professor Birth is a great person. His class is extremely simple--show up, take notes, engage with the material, do the encyclopedia little by little, and you'll pass with an A. Very approachable and cares about you if you care about the class. Take him if you have the opportunity!

Prof Birth is hilarious! All you really need to do is show up to class & write down what he says then condense & organize it into an encyclopedia, which he allows you to edit & turn in for a better grade throughout the semester. He's funny and easy to talk to. You will be entertained. Wish I knew about him before my last semester at QC!!

He is an alright professor honestly. If you do not come to class, you are going to fail because you cannot find any materials online. His tests are based on his lectures. Materials given are bearable. However, his tests are tricky. The wording can confuse you. But he still gives you a chance for extra credit. Your overall grade is based on ur exams

Cool professor, but didn't like this class. ANT 200 isn't fun and you only do an encyclopedia which has to be from his lectures. It's annoying because he says little to nothing about some of the people. And the way in which he wants it is tedious. Wish I would've dropped a long time ago

Hands down the best professor I've taken at Queens College. His lectures are actually enjoyable as opposed to many others. The class is not so difficult but its not a piece of cake either. He genuinely wants his students to pass, which is why you could re-do assignments. Definitely learned a lot in his course and would recommend to anyone.
