Comment:
I took prof. Santiago's African Diaspora through Film class. The class is very discussion-oriented and we do a lot of group projects. She's specific on how and when she wants the assignments turned in. Overall, it was a really great class. I didn't expect to learn so much. You watch some movies in there too which is great. She's very kind.

Santiago is so cool! She is truly passionate about what she teaches. She made classes both funny and interesting. She does assign a big group documentary but she gives you basically the whole semester to work on it. she is also very understanding and fair. only thing is LOTS of reading & pop quizzes but it is doable

She is AMAZING. By far the best professor I've found at Pace. She is truly passionate about what she teaches and classes are surprisingly fun. Just participate a lot and act interested in her class. She assigns a lot of readings and there are usually pop quizzes but they are not hard at all.

Professor Santiago is an amazing professor. She knows her craft and she expects excellence. I do believe that she gives just way too much work even for herself to handle when grading. If you like to read lengthy articles then take this class. If you are taking a lot of credits, don't do it. Overall, this is a high-quality class with a lot of work.

Denise Santiago is a very tough grader. She not only grades upon her criteria but also if she likes you or not. If she doesn't like you, you're screwed. We did roughly 5 papers in class and each one was very lengthy. You also read like 20 articles. If you are forced to take her class.. Participate. Say Something.. Never taking her again.

Santiago is SO amazing. This class (African Diaspora through Film) has a ton of reading and maybe 5+ essays, but it's all worth it. You'll learn a lot about this subject and the discussions you have in class will help mold our view about media. The class was thoroughly enjoyable. Not an easy A, but an A is definitely attainable if you try.

Humans and their food seemed like an easy class but no it is not. There is so much reading and quizzes for all of them. Every week. There was a 6 page essay about a food memory and a 10 page SINGLE SPACED essay. DONT TAKE THE CLASS. But she is really nice.

This professor is so inspiring! You're doing a disservice to yourself if you do not take at least on of her courses before graduating. The readings are intersting, very few essays. the discussions are very thought provoking. I HIGHLY recommend taking this professor.

Her courses are easy, but totally unecessary. She doesn't tie things together and you will learn *nothing* during an entire semester. If you only want a high grade, this is your teacher, but for Soc/Anthro major her classes are a joke.
