Comment:
I had never taken a calculus class before this and I thought the material was very difficult. I spent a lot of time getting help which was easy to do because Sochacki has lots of outside of class time open to students. Gave lots of bonus point problems. Often left class feeling lost and not prepared to do the hw questions. Nice guy, generous grader

Comment:
Professor Sochacki is smart and he knows what he is teaching. He likes to make things easy to understand. But for 248 make sure you know a little bet of linear algebra, and make sure to take a programming course before hand. If you don't you will have a hard time doing his Lab Assignments. He helps a lot during his office hours though.

Sochacki is the nicest guy, but man this class was terrible. Every class was just boring lectures all class. There are 8 lab assignments, 3 tests, and a final. The tests aren't that bad, but the lab assignments are tough. If you do not know how to use matlab do not take this class because he doesn't teach it to you and the labs will be impossible.

My class your grade depends on 3 exams, 8 lab assignments and a final for 900pts. He can be very picky about what he wants in the lab assignments, but also gives good partial credit on the tests. Go to him if you don't know what's going on, and he'll help explain it. Great guy, lecture can be a bit boring, and the assignments can be time consuming

Comment:
Lectures about 95% of the time. There were about 6-8 Lab assignments were you use MatrixLabratory (Matlab). He places a heavy emphasis on this. Tests are easier and he is more lenient because it is done by hand. There are about 4 tests including midterm and final, straightforward class but without previous knowledge of computers it is tough

Sochacki is really nice but moves extremely slow. It could be because everyone in the class wasted time asking stupid questions or he''s naturally like that. He gets very bipolar. Either we will learn a lot in class or nothing at all. With homework sometimes it will be 30 questions from the book or it will be finish the example.

He's a great professor who really knows what he is talking about. He gives a study guide for all of his tests so if you can do everything it asks you will get a good grade. If you don't understand something go to his office hours he will walk you through the steps to any problem.

He's a REALLY nice guy, he teaches by examples so it helps to write the steps out on the side to study from. Gives a lot of bonus points. He's happy to give extra help during office hours I high recommend you go to those. Class is difficult however if you've never taken calculus before, if you have you should be fine.

He's a nice guy, but he's very confusing. He makes the class a lot harder than it has to be. He explains things by doing examples so you really have to pay attention. If you study the examples he gives in class and the homework he grades you should do well.

He is too smart to teach a lower level math. If you need an easy gen ed math take this. You can pass the class on all of his extra credit. He is a really nice guy, and the material isnt too difficult, but you may have to teach some of it to yourself. He gives A LOT of random bonus points.

Super confusing, but really nice. Helpful if you ask questions, but pretty hard to follow in class. I love math, but hated the material in this course. He made it seem more difficult than it needed to be.

At first he is super confusing, the thing I found imperative was going to his office hours. For some reason he teaches so much better one on one then in class. Go to his office hours and the tests will come easier to you. he also gives TONS of extra credit. I have a 98 in the class and don't rlly love math. Put in a lil effort and you will get an A

Really nice guy, really smart, should NOT be teaching this math class. This guy is so smart that he tries to simplify things to the point where it makes absolutely no sense. If you take his class, prepare to be extremely confused. He never really answers your questions but if you go to his office hours he's kind of helpful. Try to stay away.

Great professor. Very good at clarifying things in class. My only problem is he likes to pause at the end of sentences so you can finish it which bugs me. But I would take him over any other math teacher I have had.
