Comment:
I took the class because I was interested in econ. Dr. Scott is a very intelligent man who knows what he is talking about; however, he does not do the best job with communicating that with students who don't already know what he is talking about. His examples were often mixed up, which made them hard to follow.

Scott has a lot of knowledge on the subject but he mixes up his words in class. He says that you shouldn't memorize the course material but I found it was necessary. Extra credit lectures saved my grade. He doesn't assign any homework so you need to take the appropriate steps in order to stay on top of things.

A very nice guy but not good at explaining concepts. He has great examples but is weaker at explaining what the concept is. There is so much extra credit offered if you do it you will do very well in the class. Tests sometimes include things we didn't cover in class. He does a good job of applying the concepts to life and expects you to do the same

Comment:
Dr. Scott is very knowledgeable and intelligent, but he can be disconnected between the understanding that he has, and the understanding of the class. However, he is excellent at relating the material to real-life situations. If you ask questions, he will clarify, but you need to do what he recommends to succeed.

Not clear at all in what he is saying, and even getting help on his made up problems from people who have already been in microeconomics and passed with flying colors, they could not even figure it out.

Mr. Scott is really intelligent but he is not the best at explaining the material. It''s a really hard course to begin with. If you go to him for extra help he is there but not very helpful. I would try to avoid taking him for this class.

Dr. Scott is a really nice professor and is extremely interested in the material. He does occasionally get confused with his examples which can make it hard to understand, but he does want to help you learn. If you study and put in time, it is easy to earn a good grade.

Okay so I had Prof. Scott this past semester and I agree he is a very nice man, and will help you with anything. But he is not very good at explaining concepts. It depends on how you like to learn. He pretty much explains everything with real life examples. So consider what learning style is best for you

Prof. Scott is a really nice guy. He is eager to help & very enthusiastic about economics. We often fell behind schedule & at some times things got confusing. But Prof. Scott was always willing to slow down & help out.

Wonderful instructor and economist. Made the class and the materials very very interesting and fun by linking what is in the text to the real life and to the history. I learned a big deal from him during my first MBA semester in the Econ class. I hope the rest of instructors would be even close to his level. Great Teacher!

Took him once as an undergrad and once while doing my MBA. Dr. Scott is a brilliant man, quite hilarious, and would always speak of his teaching exchange programs in Russia (don't know if he still has his hat!). Nevertheless, a great teacher and his classes are relatively easy if you do what is required. One of my favorites at Loyola.

Dr. Scott was a great teacher. He knew what he was talking about and related class ideas to his real world experiences. Some people in the class struggled, but this was mostly those who didnt come to class or had no interest in doing well. All I did was study his powerpoints and pay attention in class a majority of the time. I ended up with an A.

Dr. Charles Scott is a very sweet old man who really does want you to learn. If you pay attention during class you'll know exactly what to study for tests. It's when you miss class where people get lost and then don't do well on the test. It's only their own fault. He can tell who wants to learn so see him after class and it will help your grade.

Micro is not an easy class but Scott was a very fair professor. Many extra credit opportunities and even tells his student to scream at him if they still can't understand the concepts. Didn't do great (ended with a B-) but Prof. Scott was always there to help.

Scott isnt that bad. If you really listen in class you dont need to do the reading. About a pop quiz a week and lots of extra credit. He's not the best but he's not the worst

Professor Scott has the hard time of teaching the most boring class ever. He definately knows what he is talking about and is really dedicated. Even though I'm pulling a C, I don't attribute that to his bad teaching. The class is hard, but its the subject and Scott tries his best to help however he can. Lots of e.c. opportunities.

Some of the previous ratings for Scotty are absolutely unfair. Took him once as an undergrad and another time for my MBA. Great teacher, very enthusiastic, and definitely understands the material. Brought pizza and beer for our last MBA class. Really nice guy.

Most unprofessional teacher at Loyola College. Singles out kids in the class and definately plays favorites. Does not show up for appointments, and unclear in almost everything he says. Drop this class, I only wish I did.
