Brilliant Professor! The grading scheme was clear and fair. I took a seminar course on DNA to finish out my natural science credit. The discussions are valuable and you can tell that Dr. Penner-Hahn really know a lot about what he is talking about and understands how things work in real world scenarios. Overall, the course was a great experience.

He is probably the smartest guy I ever met, he is super nice and always willing to help you outside of class. The only issue i had in this class was it just seemed to be all over the place. We covered so many weirdly different topics, but overall if you do the readings the class is super easy. JPH really changed way I look at science in general.

Not so clear with his lectures and the material can be confusing at times. However, at least he doesn't drone on and he really isn't so bad considering that this class isn't as popular as orgo or gen chem.

Penner-Hahn was a nice person who tried to incorporate feedback from students as much as possible. I wish he had selected a better textbook and had collaborated with his GSI's more to write better homework sets. The lecture is pretty esoteric unless you understood the book perfectly the first time. Overall, I'm pretty neutral about the class.
