He's a great teacher...great sense of humor and makes the material easy to understand. Provides multiple ways of going about different problems, so you can find a method that works for you. Overall a pretty easy teacher, quizzes are often but extremely straight forward. Helpful too

If you had calculus before, just do the homework and an A is inevitable. Even if you haven't, he explains everything extremely clear and the homework refines everything in class. You have 75 pts of quizzes, 3 tests out of 100 and a 125 point final. Extremely nice guy and a great teacher.

I was intimidated by Professor Roche at first, but as the semester went on, I realized how nice and caring he really was. He was always there to help and truly has the students best interest in mind. The class was predictable. Go over homework from the night before, then learn a new lesson. The quizzes are straightforward, but the tests were hard.

He is a nice guy and is really helpful, though not the best math teacher I've had. Class wasn't too bad, even though I didn't take pre-calc before jumping into calculus. The solutions book is really helpful for the homework, so make sure to buy it!

My grade did not end up great, but this was more a result of my own poor background in calculus. As a teacher, hes extremely nice and a great dude. Laid back and calm, he tells corny jokes on purpose to lighten the mood surrounding awful calculus. My only wish is this great guy taught something better than calc. 3 tests and a final, no attendance

He is a nice guy. Will try to help you but he is very unclear and hard to follow. he also assumes you know things that you may not know making class almost impossible. I learned more from just reading the math textbook than from him. Explains things in very difficult ways.

Really nice guy. Homework every class but only recommended, rarely graded unless told otherwise. If you do the HW, quizzes and and take-home turn-ins are simple and easy way to boost grade. Tests are a little hard though. I strongly recommend him, especially for business calc. Not bad at all!

For people who did excellent in high school Calculus and think they can sleep their way through Calc I in college, think again. Roche taught me that. Although the class was not hard, it still takes doing the homework and some dedication to get an A. Roche was a very nice professor and is willing to help. The important thing is to do the homework.

He is a really nice guy, but he definitly does not capture your attention. In fact, his southern drawl might make you nod off. He always helps when you have a problem with the homework, and he gives partial credit on tests, homeworks and quizzes.

The class is boring, but he can't help it. He tries hard to make it fun, and it's not his fault if we fall asleep -- he never even gets mad. Gotta feel kind of sorry for the guy, actually. He'll go over the same thing 500 times if that's what you need, and we've had classes with no lesson because he spent the whole time going over questions.

If you took calculus in high school, you'll do fine in this class. He goes pretty fast because he assumes that everyone took calc. already. But, if you don't understand something, just ask him and he will gladly help. He's a real nice guy. I got an A in his class. The tests aren't too hard.

Exceedingly boring teacher. Perhaps it was the topic, but either way it was difficult to stay awake. Tests are very challenging, study the book and do your homework if you want any chance of passing.
