Horrible professor! she doesnt explain anything, she goes way too fast and teaches just off power points. Homework is different from lectures and exams don't cover anything "learned" in class. If your a civil starting your junior year, your in for a treat!

very passionate about her work. she may come across as indifferent at first, but eventually she is very personable... granted you show interest in the material. i hate chemistry and will never be an environmental engineer but having taken her course will benefit my career. (why does this plant need so many RBCs???)

good teacher, VERY easy going... even gotten in snowball fights w/her b4 during a field trip. extremely helpful if u dont understand something as long as you dont wait til the day b4 the homework is due. also i think the person who said CIE 343 meant cie 434.. wastewater treatment

Jean is a good teacher for people who actually want to learn. The people I've ever known who complain about her never go to office hours or ask for help. She's more like a college professor than other teachers who act like we're all still in high school. Ask questions, ask for help, go to class, read beforehand, and you'll do well in her classes.

Worst teacher ever. The civil engineering department of Umaine should be ashamed to have her as a professor. Unclear on absolutely everything. Never teaches just hands out worksheets that she thinks should be done in an hour, but take 4. Worst teacher I have had at Umaine by far.

Seemed to like what she was teaching, very energetic for 8 in the morning. Homework does not really match the examples at all so are a lot harder, and the tests just suck ass, like whoa

Decent teacher with okay lectures, never got too bored. Stupid class group activites, glad those died off by the end of the semester. Text is pretty useless, hard homework but doesn't take long if you understand it. Tests are pretty bad though, find someone to study with. She does give notes and equations though.
