Comment:
Nadler has got to be one of Tandon's greatest gems. In a sea of tough engineering classes, this class was a breath of fresh air. His class has great intent, and he will make you understand even if you don't at first. Take my word for it, he will make you look at poetry and art in ways you never though you could and you will so much fun.

Nadler is a great professor. He's actually really intellectually stimulating if you give him a chance. His approach is different than other professors, so students should come to his courses with an open mind. It's a shame that so many of his students blame him for their own inability to accept that can learn something from this brilliant man.

Amazing professor and highly underrated. One thing I would say, is that you need to know how to write prior to this class in order to do well. Professor presents his teaching in a very radical way and he re-teaches you how to read. He deconstructs texts by following logic and is interested in only what's written.

Smug, annoying professor whose lessons only filled me with rage. He offers no critique, only petty insults to each work he analyzes. Hates everything he reads, and expects you to do the same. He talks nonstop, but never says anything worth remembering. If your like me and taking this solely for a humanities credit, find someone else. Anyone else.

Comment:
The professor takes an overly analytical approach to works in a way that borders on nonsensical. Grades on papers are based entirely on how closely your paper agree with his point, rather than how well argued your point is. As a class about analytical interpretation, this is a ridiculous way to be graded. Highly unrecommended.

Comment:
Claims that he is open minded, is even proud of it, but is extremely close minded. He makes up assignments on the spot. The worst part is that he doesn't grade your paper based on how well argued it is, but rather whether he agrees with your opinion or not. I confirmed this when I wrote a paper with his opinion almost verbatim, and got an A on it.

Seems like a nice, knowledgeable guy at first but he's unhelpful in every aspect of the class. Clueless and gets very defensive when things don't go his way. Just avoid this guy.

Comment:
This class is a waste of time. The professor is very anal about everything and very picky about topics, if he doesn't agree with your opinion, you're getting a bad grade. Also if you don't write exactly what he says in class, you won't get a good grade either.. Most likely will get a C to B even if you work hard.

There is no structure in his class, he's disorganized, and his assignments are very vague. Do not take his class if you're looking for an easy A. You are better off taking another class for a writing intensive. I will never take a class with him ever again. Avoid at all cost!

All the readings and the books are classical english like shakespeare. He gives you two different sonnets and asks you to find a conncecting point between them and find two critics and argue with them in a 6 page research paper!!!!

Mr. Nadler is a good professor if literature is something you're interested in learning. But even if you're not, you'll definitely walk away from this class a with way to analyze literature differently than any other professor will teach. although, his classroom lacked structure, I appreciated him for his passion for teaching.

Great professor: dissects literature like a surgeon. Scrupulous grader, but helpful and wants you to do well. Your final grade will be based on your improvement in the class. Holds unusual ideas about the world; I couldn't help debating with him.

He was a hard grader but gave me points because my writing improved. As long as you can somewhat hold a debate with him he will like you but avoid if possible since there are easier teachers. He also made us read 2 books so if you do not like reading then don't pick him.
