I really enjoy Russell as a lecturer, he is funny, cool, and tries his best to make his lectures, which he recognizes can be a little boring, fun and interesting. I would avoid his classes going forward because having taken 2, he always includes seminar group presentations and his exams include memorizing up to 5 essays. It was fine, but no more ha

This guy is awful, nice guy and all, but Russell is easily the most dry, dull, and life-less teacher I have ever had. Every lecture for this class feels the exact same, "find the claim, collect the data, and establish the warrant." Having your lectures at 9:00am doesn't help either.

I love Russell, I've had him three times now and he is my favourite prof. The material isn't the most interesting but he loves it and will try his best to make it interesting but hes a nerd. The assignments can be tough but if you really work hard and participate you'll get great grades. Do the readings though.

Russell is the man. He may seem like a stoic intellectual but he's actually just a big ol' teddy bear. Meet with him during office hours and get to know the guy. Bonus points if you're a Hamilton Tiger-Cats fan. One of my favourite profs at Brock.

I also have him currently for 3P14 - same problem: boring material, but he loves it and sticks to the text material, i find his lectures much easier to follow than the readings and it's all the same information. Great sense of humour, great sense of style! Love him.
