He had lectures but I never attended them; he just goes over the lesson outline which is provided. He only had five quizzes, open-note, and everything was mostly from those lesson outlines. Homework was pretty much busy-work, having us make five three-sentence annotations for 2-3 articles. Only 1-2 questions refer to the article on the quiz.

This is a great man. I took 2A with him, liked him so much I took another class with him. 41A is really a class that focuses alot of anti-capitalist readings and European history. Quiz open note, book, open internet. Just make sure to do the hw even if its a good amount of reading. His lectures are actually interesting to watch. Such a kind soul.

Your grade is only based on two things: 5 quizzes and weekly annotations done on assigned readings. You usually read 2-3 readings every week and type 5 annotations on Perusall. They can be quite long, but you can honestly skim. Quizzes are super easy and you can do well if you read over the lecture pdf he sends through email. Definitely recommend!

One of my favorite Professors ever! Content is so easy and interesting to learn. There are weekly, heavy readings that you need to annotate but that's as hard as it gets. I did all the work and never studied, got high scores on all quizzes. Everything's open note and he's super nice and accommodating. Great GPA booster!

This was a super simple class where you just had to do the weekly reading annotations and take quizzes. Almost all the quiz content can be found in the lecture notes. Don't worry at all about this class.

I loved taking prof Douglas this quarter! This class is an easy A if you dont procrastinate. Grading consisted of 2-3 20 page articles to read per week that we had to do 5 good annotations on each, and 5 quizzes throughout the quarter. The professor provided pdf lessons in his emails in case you didnt get all the info in notes during lecture.

It may different for in person but as an online class I never had to worry about this class. There is a lot of reading to do during the week, but as long as the overall theme is known and you read the lecture material you will do well in the class. Highly recommend for a GE!

Professor Douglas is so well-rounded and the perfect professor during these rough times. He doesn't take attendance, only weekly quizzes (no tests), little homework, extra credit, and no final. I wouldn't say it's a show up and pass class, but 100% an easy A! Douglas is just so kind, informative, and organized. I really loved him, he's great!!

EASY! 50 min lectures. he posts the notes ahead of times. 3 articles for the entire week, 5 comments each article. Maybe a video to watch with it. Anthro is the type of class you enjoy taking because its applicable to the real world. Quizzes are straight forward IF u do your work. Easy GPA booster, great teacher, loves what he does. TAKE HIM!

Most understanding and chill professor ever. A very good class to take if you want to boost your GPA, especially if you are a STEM major. While my other professors are not willing to take any excuses whatsoever, Prof. Douglas is willing to give extensions on all assignments if you are unable to do them on time. Lectures are recorded (not mandatory)

I didn't watch lectures, all you need is to read the lecture notes and watch the videos he sends out every week and do the assigned readings w annotations for the quizzes. 4 straightforward quizzes open book open internet, no final. The assigned readings range from 40-100 pages every week but you can just skim. Quizlets online really help.

Readings are important but most of the articles are interesting. Those articles are long so start reading earlier. Each week we would have 2-3 required readings and 5 annotations per article. Quizzes are easy as long as you read the articles and lecture PDF and watch the videos he uploaded. The Lecture PDF is the most important though.

Grade made up of 5 open note quizzes which can have EC and annotating 1-3 articles per week with 5 annotations using a website called Perusall. Optional "lectures" where he goes over the weeks homework and lesson. Overall super easy class, nice teacher, and should be easy A. Some TAs graded harder on annotations, but mine just gave full credit.

Took during COVID. Just optional Zoom meetings every Monday night and they were posted on Canvas after. Decent amount of reading with Perusall but not too difficult to do the required annotations. Quizzes are all open note and straight forward + he gives a lot of extra credit on the last 3. Graded on just 5 quizzes and Perusall articles. Easy A!

Easy A. Basically, the class was graded on 2 things. Annotations, and Quizzes. 5 quizzes, each worth 10% of total grade. Open note, very easy and almost intuitive. As for annotations, you just have to read articles (or don't lol) and annotate them. I didn't read them, just replied to other annotations. Still got an A+. I recommend. good GPA booster
