This guy is nice, but also a mess. Your grade is based on 6/7 tests, which are moderate/hard. The multiple choice, essay portion, and extra credit portion, require you to read the textbook. DO NOT CHEAT. If you cheat, you get an automatic 0 on an exam, and it is not smart. The lectures are very boring and hard to pay attention to.

Good luck, I look at the reviews and ignored them. If you want to save your GPA I advice not taking this class. You take 7 tests and 1 is dropped. These tests are 90% of your grade. His class is boring and he grades the test beyond strict with such a small time limit. This is the hardest class I have taken and it is not worth it for a GE.

The first couple exams were tough on my grade. Want to know why? I didn't study. But once I started doing the essay questions in advance and actually reading the textbook, I did super well. When the class shifted to remote learning, I came out with a B+ Dr. Darlington was hard to hear sometimes, but we were in an auditorium. Hes' a nice guy :)

Dr. D is probably the worst professor I've ever had. I had him half the semester in person and half online and it was the worst experience of my life. His lectures are so boring. If you don't participate he takes points off your average. I don't understand how he grades anything and I'm usually an A student. Just steer clear of him and this class.

Hes a very nice guy but his teaching style is not for me. He often gets side tracked and tells stories that are not relevant. His lectures can get boring but make sure you pay attention and take really good notes. Also make you read the textbook before the exams!! You are only graded on exams and participation so make sure you study hard.

Dr. D knows a lot about his subject, but he has no business being a teacher. Grades are based 90% on 6 tests, and 10% participation, you must participate in class atleast 8 times. He only wants you to word things a certain way or he will mark them wrong on tests.

Anyone who says James is a hard professor is wrong in my opinion. You show up, participate a few times here and there, and do the study guide. Do that and you'll pass. Sure, the lectures can pass really slowly, but I'd show up with my laptop and mess around. Easy A all the way.

It is easy want to pass DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASSES! I studied so hard for his exams and still got horrible grades, he is not good at teaching or providing the necessary knowledge needed to good good on his exams. I had to learn everything from the textbook and still got things wrong because "it wasnt his words".

James means well but he shouldn't be teaching. He isn't the worst professor but his class can drag on and on at times. About 80% of your grade is exams (He gave one almost every 2 weeks) and the other 20% is class participation. The more effort you will put into the class the better you will do. Be sure to read the textbook but also take notes!

James seems like a nice person, but he has no place teaching. 90% of your grade comes from exams, which include essay questions. Now this wouldn't be hard, but he expects his exact wordings and will mark things wrong even if it comes from the textbook. He likes things his way, and that's very frustrating.

James Darlington, although eccentric, is definitely not a bad professor. The class relies very heavily on the textbook, so without that, youre naturally not going to do well. He gives clear study guides for every exam and even the essay question word-for-word. As long as you pay attention and do the reading, the class is easy, even for a GE.

If you get him for this class and can't switch, unless you need to take this class, just drop it. The class is unnecessarily difficult and its not worth taking as a GE. I was panicked because I started this class at a D+ but then he started grading easier. The only grades are 7 tests but he drops the lowest one. TAKE GOOD NOTES!

Professor Darlington was one of my favorite professors. I enjoyed his sense of humor, and although lectures could drag on, he was so cute and passionate about the subject. The class was an easy A as long as you showed up and participated at least 8 times, and studied the guides he gives for the exams. Would definitely take another class with him.

I went to Professor Darlington after class one night because I had a question about the exam we had gotten back. When I started asking him about it he told me to hurry up. This guy is boring, rude and test are 90% of your grade. Without a tutor or studying like crazy this class is impossible. DO NOT take this class.

Worst teacher I have ever had. Went to him for help and he told me there was nothing he could tell me and didn't know what to say. The tests are 90% of your grade, and they are essays which have at least 3-4 parts/questions to them, and if you do not answer with exactly what he wants you to say (which you don't know) you do poorly. AVOID

Professor Darlington's class was the most test-heavy class I have ever taken. We had a test every other week. He is a tough grader and if you don't put his exact words as the answer, you will get it wrong. Lectures are very boring. Holds you till the very last minute even on test days. Participation is also mandatory (at least 8 classes).

Professor Darlington is honestly one of the kindest and most genuine professors I've ever had. Some may complain about the lectures being boring, but all you really have to do is show up and raise your hand a few times and its an easy grade. The tests are simple if you follow the guide and he's very approachable despite his hearing loss. Great guy!

Your overall grade for the class is based on 6/7 tests that he gives EVERY OTHER WEEK. He is extremely boring and he uses every second of class everyday. He is not easy to talk to or approach, if you go to him for help you wont get it. He grades based on his own opinion. His tests are impossible to pass and his notes are useless. Must talk 8 times
