ENVS 200: Pay attention in labs as so much of what will be talked about will appear on the LAB EXAM. Do not skip classes or labs. There are many bonus marks to be had as of fall 2010 (up to 5%). Do everything you can to get these as you may need them to compensate for the hard midterm/final exams

For this class, you need to take advantage of all extra credit opportunities. Anything you can do - do! The tests are very specific so form a study group which will each provide detailed summaries of each chapter...you will thank yourselves during exam time. Overall has some fairly interesting moments, lags a bit at others. Labs are fun!

Pretty tough class, you have to work very hard in order to get 75+. Midterm is exam is difficult, but if you read the book and understood the material, you should be okay. Word of warning: You WILL fail if you do not read the textbook - he doesn't just say that. But all in all, this class makes you work, and the material is really interesting!

OMG Rog. ENVS 200 is probably the biggest waste of time in my life. I hate the fact that it was mandatory for ERS students because I learned absolutely nothing! Well I did learn that "trees are NOT lollipops!". He is very passionate on the subject however which makes the class somewhat interesting. The material was far too detailed and specific.

Oh, Rog. So arrogant, so rude, so self-righteous. This is THE worst, most irrelevant class you'll have to take in your planning career. Subject material is extremely detailed, and totally useless. Ol' Rog treats us like we're in the third grade, and blames his own mistakes on us. My TA was an idiot. LES = useless. WORST CLASS (AND PROF) EVER.

I am studying for the exam on this course right now at DP. This course is rediculous, too hard for people who dont have much science background. The midterm was too specific on scientific stuff. Planners are not environmental scientist or tree huggers afterall.

I thought he was a good prof, but his tests were far too detailed and specific. Without bell-curving it can be hard to get a decent mark. Labs were interesting, but altogether there was too much information to know. You can't blame planners for everything...

Rog was never around 2 help, & never helpful when he was around. He gets angry fast & cant teach or control a class of 50++. The labs were useless & there's too much info. there's too much reading & things to study. Rog should finally retire. However, the water talks were good & informative. RETIRE!

i thought the class was fun, but then again i think ecology is NEAT! i like his quirkiness and how excited he is about his subject. But then again i didn't become bitter against him becuase i only went to about half the classes. Lastly, the midterm was definitly not that hard, and LES rule.

Acts as though the midterm will be a piece of cake...the LES sheets are useless! Seriously, try including material you said would be on it and not readings from three weeks ahead of it! His lectures are good, but long...

I don't want to rate easiness because he is tough - but you learn a ton. Wonderful anecdotes. Undergraduates who whine about testing material he did not teach or full of crap. You have to apply the principles, not just regurgitate specifics.
