I wouldn't recommend taking Orgo 2 with Grabowski if you did not take him for Orgo 1. He expects you to know a lot of things from Orgo 1, some of which I did not learn with my professor. We had a quiz (sometimes 2) every single week. The quizzes were always insanely difficult and took hours upon hours of studying to pass. Overall don't recommend.

He is a very tough professor and expects you to know a lot about Ochem 1. His tests and quizzes are very difficult but if you put in the time you can succeed. His assignments were very fair and he gives you plenty of chances to make up points where you may have lots them. Overall I say take if you want to understand ochem.

This classes was SO stressful. One of the hardest Ochem teachers you can take at pitt. When things went online he was not very accommodating and was very rude to students when they asked questions.

Grabowski isn't an easy choice for Ochem 2, but he gives you all the resources you need to succeed. Do ALL of the practice exams, and use every resource that he gives you. In office hours he can be helpful, but only if you come with very specific questions to ask. For reference, I finished the course with a 76% and ended up with an A-.

I had an awful experience with this professor, he was extremely condescending towards students with questions and showed little respect. He also did seem to appreciate the need for disability accomodations and even attempted to avoid providing them. If you can take this class with anyone else, please try! This class will only add unecessary stress.

Grabowski is a good teacher for some people the reason I rated him a 3 is because i don't think his teaching style works for a great deal of people. There is a lot of memorization and his tests and quizzes are VERY hard. Don't take him unless you have a very solid Ochem1 base. Get ready to work hard but he has a huge grade curve at the end

He gives fill in notes that you have to print before lecture (completed notes not posted online) and did not once write on the board. He made it clear on day 1 that you should not email him with questions. Not one exam average was above a D. Claims not to curve. Gives minimal (if any) partial credit on exams/quizzes. Gives weekly sapling homework.

Not a bad professor when it comes to teaching. He makes sure you know your stuff, but his quizzes and tests are very difficult. I don't know how so many people on this site got A's because as a good student in his class, you should probably expect a B (at best). He is a good choice if you want to learn, but this guy might make your GPA tank.

Not the worst option, but definitely not a good option. Tests are hard and he uses the ACS final instead of writing his own. If youre stuck with him, know the reactions well and use the old exams to study.

Dr. Grabowski is a decent lecturer, but if you go to him with any questions, especially if they are grade related, he will rip you apart. One of the rudest professors Ive ever met. Claims not to curve but has to with averages in the low 40s. Had no idea what my grade would be until the class was over. Wouldnt recommend.

Orgo 2 is going to be difficult no matter what. Dr. Grabowski makes it bearable through his incomplete lecture notes which force you to stay engaged with the material during lecture. His quizzes can be tricky, but the material he releases for exam prep are REALLY helpful and show you the exact format of the exam. Study hard and you should be fine.

Grabowski could be a better professor, but his quizzes which are too challenging to be put into a 15 min time frame can mess up the majority of the class average during the exams. Tophat questions are given every lecture as well as pre-made notes that he does not post later. Try to find another professor if you can help it.

While Dr. Grabowski is a nice guy, having him for OChem 2 is awful. His notes are incomplete so you lectures are mandatory. He sets up assessments that are comprised of two quizzes (17 points each) and the exam (66 points). The quizzes are always meant to trip you up. Averages are in the single digits. Exams are in the 40s-50s. I would avoid.

The class is going to be hard no matter what, but Grawboski gives mostly clear expectations of what to know. Spend time on things he tells you to and you will be fine. He tells you the material on the quizzes a week in advance and gives LOTS of practice for the exams (including old exams). I struggled in OChem 1 and found this class to be easier.

He's knowledgable on the topics and provides outlines to follow along with, but he can speed through topics. Quizzes are usually fair, but topics can be ambiguous. Scoring with partial credit can be inconsistent at times and exams follow the same setup. Synthesis questions are always 25% of exams. Don't recommend if you REALLY struggled in ochem 1

Very intelligent, but not good at teaching. His notes are posted before class to fill in, but they are nearly useless for studying. There are 6 quizzes, 3 exams and a final, and online HW. He is not good at explaining the concepts and doesn't give much partial credit

This is the hardest class I have after taken but Grabowski is one of the best professors I've ever had. He wanted us all to learn so badly. Very accessible and will help you at any time if you ask for it. BUT his tests are extremely hard with averages in the high 40s/low 50s. Generous curve and offers bonus points. There is no other prof I'd take.

Organic Chemistry 2 is a hard class regardless of the professor you take. Grabowski is a great choice because of his very informational lectures. His exams are tough, but fair. I loved going to this class to hear the dad jokes and extra information he would give us. Practice problems and you will pass.

Didn't have a good Orgo 1 background, but put in the work to do well. Units are 2 quizzes and an exam to give 100 pts, so if you score high on the quizzes, you can get above average on the assessment. HW is req. weekly, but is helpful. Can be intimidating and condescending, but he knows OChem really well. Gives 10 pts (of 500) of extra credit.

Grabowski was a tough prof. This is a weeding out class. I took him twice, but retook Orgo 1 after I had him to get a B+. My frame of reference is based on what I learned from the other teacher I took- Hudson. Everything was much clearer through Hudson, walked through, broken down. Grabowksi was frustrating- but if you do your work you can get an A
