Gersch was a card. His teaching is kind of confusing but he really wants you to know the material and is always open to questions or going over problems, so take advantage of that. He didn't assign much graded material, so study for quizes. Very corny jokes, just nod if he asks you if you "concur".

as a person, he's very funny and kind, but as a professor he's not exactly the best. he's very ambiguous with everything, but maybe it's because it's material i've learned in the past and should remember? Overall, he's a really really understanding and funny teacher but not as good teaching wise

Graet Prof! Explains concepts well and clearly, lots of nice examples (and weird humor), cares about all students and wants them all to pass. Go to every class, follow his methods and instrctions, study for tests and you'll do fine!

Absolutely worst teacher I have ever had! DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK HE NEVER USES IT. you don't get homework and he does not help you at all. You can bring notes to tests but the tests are impossible for the way he teaches. Said that he would try and help you to pass but he gives no extra credit or curves when everyone in the class had failed! SO BAD

He was good in the beginning, then he kinda screwed us at the end. He went too long in between tests and gave NO in class example problems for the hardest material. First test was easy. Had the 2nd midterm and final within 2 weeks of each other. Not cool. I like him as a person. Not so much as a professor.

horrible teacher, no office hours and tutoring center didn't know the answers to the review sheets. in class there is no interaction between him and the students, no practice problems nothing. hard grader and mark is based off only 3 tests. i have attended every class and still don't know anything, not clear. keeps you past class time long lectures

I love Prof. Gersch. He's such a nerd, but he's such a good hearted person. He constantly makes the same joke the entire semester, but its who he is. I would definitely take him again for another math class. He doesn't want to complicate your lives and will help you if you ask. No Book, No Homework, just wants you to concur.

NOT FOR POOR MATH STUDENTS! Overall okay professor. There are better but he's not that bad if you get stuck with him. Only has 2 tests and a final and the homework is not mandatory. On the tests he lets you use an index card full of notes. He has lame jokes that you will get tiered of fast. Good luck if you are not god at math.

Professor Gersch knows math, but unless you've taken the class before and the material is familiar to you, his teaching can be confusing. Also, he gives review sheets but rarely posts answers. When he grades tests, he never specifies what you did wrong or what the right answer should've been. Class is boring. Do the homework. Ask for help.

if you do not understand statistics well.. do NOT take him. Tests are extremely hard and unfair and he does not do a good job of explaining the material. no textbook and nothing but scribbled notes on a board that are hard to read

He does not use a textbook. Grade is based on 3 exams. A lot of dry humor and repetition of concepts and problems. Copy them. HW questions he puts on board have a good chance of showing up on tests. He allows one page of notes during exams. As long as you take note you will be prepared for his tests. He also gives review sheets. Recommended

Ugh, stay away! I felt like he was speaking Chinese the entire 4 months. He knows his stuff, but has no idea how to teach it. He will come across as a cool dude, and he is, but your GPA will suffer. He gives review sheets, but on the exams, you get something totally different. Very misleading. Do not take him if you are not good at math naturally!

Professor Gersch is very knowledgeable on the subject of Calculus. Please do the homework that he places on the board because they could be on the 3 exams that he gives during the semester. Also, do not rely on the text book he does not use the book. So save your dollars.
