Gives about 4 in lecture assignments throughout the semester but you can work with other students around you. Lectures are long and stale, so take notes as best as you can, but read the textbook which is easy to comprehend. Often he posts articles on Sakai, don't bother reading them since they weren't on any tests or the final.

He is very interested in the subject and this is made apparent by the many articles he sends out - they can be quite interesting. Class is very dry and boring, he uses the textbook slides and just reads off of them making it hard to pay attention. Gives random assignments totaling 60 points (don't worry about missing 1 or 2)

He is boring, but he explains concepts really well. Attendance is important because he gives in-class assignments that total 60 points towards your overall grade. If you attend class and take notes, you should do ok in this class.

Aghhhhhh. He's just SOOO BORING. I physically could not pay attention in class. I actually ended up bringing markers and paper to class. Why didn't i just skip you ask? Because he gives these random graded assignments in class. Do not recommend.

He's very educated in the field of economics and a very nice guy but very dry as a teacher, was difficult to stay awake and interested, really helps to read the text book and stay on top of things outside of class, the harder you work the better grade you will get.

Not helpful. He sends a lot of random emails pertaining to things that he thinks is important. Went to every class but still did poorly. Do not take with him.

Do the sapling and the in class assignments and you'll do fine, i showed up to class 6 times the whole semester got out with a C never used the text book just used the power points to study from. His questions are tricky, there are easier intro to micro profs.

Comment:
Go to every class bc he sometimes hands out in-class assignments. Maximize points by doing well on Sapling HW. For the first two tests he uses a couple of questions from the study guides. Look at those. Final is somewhat difficult bc he rushed through the last few chapters. However, he lowered the cutoff for an A to an 86 for my class.

really boring. doesn't cover half of the syllabus but somehow it has all ended up on the final.... what? midterm and final consist of 3-4 questions, all open ended and worth 10 points each towards your final grade so not a lot of room to mess up. don't take it?

REALLY boring. Don't even bother going to lectures, they're a waste. Only gives 4 assignments, as said in the post below this. Expects a lot of comprehension but explains very little. Hard grader, especially on the mid term and final. I guess he isn't too bad compared to the rest of the department, but that isn't saying much.

DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!! lectures are all over the place, unorganized and unstructured. he is knowledgeable, and teaches well, but does not follow a plan. 1 midterm, 30% (3 questions-basically a pass/fail), avrg was a 60), 2 assignemnts-15% each, final 40% (4 questions) grading on exams is VERY unfair, looks for specifics. easy ELECTIVE? HELL NO- AVOID

His slides are from the textbook company so it really helps to read it. As a professor he is so boring and explains things really badly. He makes the class difficult and the concepts hard to grasp. His tests are hard and the questions don't always make sense.

Comment:
Don't take this class! TERRIBLE microeconomics professor. I was turned off by the subject, but luckily Sheflin reinstalled by interest in it during Macro. RUBIN is very confusing, he gets off topic and does not actually talk about the subject matter. The Aplia can be difficult and his exams are very HARD since the questions come out of left field.
