Brother Peck is a good professor. He is a smart guy, and he is passionate about his students. His class was easy and very clearly laid out. The class was 'Neanderthals and other successes' but we spent more time talking about climate change than Neanderthals, which was a bit disappointing.

I took the Middle East class. There is a lot of reading to do for each class, and I would attend thinking that we would go over the assignments that he gave us, but he just rants about politics. He shares a lot of opinions and comments about things that do not always pertain to class. If you want to learn you do it more on your own time.

Brother Peck is a really amazing teacher. When teaching on the Middle East it is clear that he knows just about everything on the subject, both historically and currently. He's entertaining and witty and will keep the subject matter entertaining. There's a lot of work, but it's all really interesting and you feel prepared for every assignment.

Dr Peck has to be among the most knowledgeable in the Middle East field, but his lectures aren't even lectures. He gives many reading and writing assignments and says we'll discuss them in class, but spends most of class ranting. His rants (mostly about US politics) have truth to them, but don't have much relevance to learning about the Middle East

I really enjoyed this class, it was difficult, but I learned a lot. You write a lot of summaries, and do a lot of study guides, but if you do that work then you will be fine in the class. He is very knowledgeable, and connects a lot of things together for students. He brings understanding to his students about issues that are relevant today.

Brother Peck is really knowledgeable, but he's not the best teacher. There is heavy reading before each class, but there are study guides that are EXACTLY the same as the test questions. Not a bad class, but not an easy A.

Dr. Peck is a great guy. There is so much that he wants to teach students, not just about history, but about life and other cultures. We need more professors like him who will stand up for others, and show love towards all. Its pretty easy to get an A in his classes if you show substantial effort.

He is not the most organized, but knows so much about the subject matter. The class really wasnt that difficult. The students make stuff seem more complicated than it actually is. Just study hard for the tests, do your daily readings, and you can get an A pretty easily.

The two things that would have made this class better, would've been for Brother Peck to specify what he wants, and to provide feedback on assignments. However, if students ask him, he will help them as long as he is made aware. He knows his material- and prefers conversation instead of long lectures. Attendance is advised.

Brother Peck is very unorganized and isn't clear on what he wants. His assignments aren't straightforward and he doesn't provide clear instructions. He also wants "400 level work" (it's a 200 level class). The weekly homework wouldn't become available until late the night before its due (8 am the next morning) so getting ahead was not an option.

I took him for Pakistan and it was great! He is very passionate about what he teaches. He accepts late work with no penalty and he cares about his students a lot. He had several guests come in to teach the class who had been to Pakistan and he had a good variety of teaching methods. He's usually a religion teacher.

I made the mistake of thinking i could cruise by in two of his classes this last fall. Let me say this, he isn't very organized, and his TA does the grading. This semester we often didn't have homework ready until late the night of, the assignment weren't clear. His tests extremely hard, you must have a great Memory to pass.

Brother Peck is a really nice guy, and really loves the subjects he teaches about. But he goes off on tangents... a lot. The only thing that matters is the quiz you're graded on. His tests had the exact same questions as the quizzes did. He gave no feedback on any of my essays, and you can't check your grade online. I wouldn't take from him again.

He is late on getting the homework up, and expects you to learn "on your own" and to "own your grade." His tests are a TON of memorization and just ridiculous. He rambles in class and doesn't teach what you need to know for the test in class. You have to go to study sessions outside of class in order to TRY to get an A. Avoid him at all cost.

Requires you to memorize TONS for his comprehensive, handwritten exams. Homework is posted late at night the day before it is due. Class is him ranting about nothing regarding the exams and you're then expected to spend hours in study sessions with his T.A to learn the material that should be taught by him in class.

This class is ridiculous because of the large amount we have to memorize and how little time we have to do it. The class is totally disorganized, and the homework or on-schedule topic is rarely discussed in class . He expects way too much, and says we should be on his level. This class is practically a graduate level course. SAVE YOURSELF.

NO NO NO NO NO. This guys sucks alright? He expects you to memorize huge amounts of information, doesn't stay on topic in class, and the curriculum is completely destroyed. He doesn't care about you at all. This was class yesterday "I do not care about anyone's education in this classroom." none of the quizzes you take matter, only the tests.

Brother Peck is nice person, however, he has too high of expectations of us. Yes, I understand history is a lot of memorizing, but this is ridiculous. The amount he expects us to memorize is too much considering we're just learning this and its only a 14 week course. I think he believes that our lives revolve around only is class.

Comment:
I would talk and discuss matters of history with Brother Peck anyday. He's not a bad teacher. However, he will often think he says things, which his TA says he did, but he never did. He hates long pauses and will be condescending as a way to get you to respond. What is discussed in class for any projects doesn't correlate with what he expects.
