Comment:
Ned is the kind of prof you either love or you hate. I like the man well enough, but that's likely because I've had a lifetime of being around men with similar strong opinions. I enjoyed the media study, and although it was a bit all over the place, it was a class about superhero movies. I took it for media credit and had a grand ol time.

I never knew what Ned wanted. Had to speak with him multiple times to understand speech requirements. He said one thing but graded on another criteria. Make sure you attend class, because he gets you to critique others' speeches. Also, he rarely makes you use the textbook. Can you deal with an hour of straight talking? If so, you can survive Ned.

Great man, terrible prof. Ned knows a lot. He's full of information but doesn't convey it well. It's hard to know what he wants from an assignment, and his grading is all over the place (which is the toughest part). He is a wonderful, caring man, but awful as a professor for students trying to learn anything.

Ned is.... Ned. He's a unique butterfly that will blow your mind or destroy your life. He has no filter, so take whatever he says with a handful of salt and understand that he has offended most people during his career. That being said, he can teach you a lot if you are open to learning and have a slightly twisted sense of humour.

You know what they say, Those that teach can't. He teaches because he doesn't actually make films.

Ned was literally the best prof I had during my first semester at Trinity. He may be a hard marker but he genuinely wants to help you improve in the art and craft of filmmaking. I went in to the class thinking I knew all there was to know about filmmaking and left knowing a lot more than I began with. Great prof, would, and am, taking again.

If there are any posts regarding this prof as any good, they are clearly written by the prof himself. This guy is the most inept person I've ever met. He can hardly form a coherent thought without getting distracted. He is severely ADHD and has zero film knowledge or experience. What a waste of time. Horrifically disappointed.

His teaching style really leaves everything up to the student. He will take you as far as you want to go. You will get out of it what you put into it. I love it! This is real-world training. This is how the world is run. Don't like it? Too bad.
