best physics teacher I ever had, of course this was several years ago, but he the reason I am the physicist I am today! He made you work and he pushed you, but in the end it was worth it!

No one will ever have to suffer again since they are making him retire. There are some many problems with this guy. His test are impossible unless you have an old test and cheat. There is also no relation between homework and test. The book is useless because there is nothing in the book that is on the test. WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not take him unless you want to cheat. He is too old and constantly forgets what he is talking about. It is so easy to cheat on the exams that you could pull out a laptop, he even left the room for awhile during an exam. Since the average is based on class average, people who don't cheat should just avoid Benbrook no matter what.

He forgets what he is talking about and drags out notes forever, only to find out that he was doing the wrong thing. He does not stop people from cheating on his test which is bad news for those of us that don't cheat since grades are based on class average. People actually pull out old tests during exam. If you want to learn it, don't take him.

His age probably gets the best of him. Smart man, but horrible teacher. Lectures are confusing and unorganized. After a while, people just stopped taking notes and coming to class. His exams are nothing like the homeworks so the they're basically a chore. Save your GPA and time by not taking him, trust me. Unless you're a physics genius already.

This class was utterly useless. Despite them being a grade, the HW is useless b/c his tests comes from his lecture, which is even more confusing than the book. The only upside to the class is that your grade is based on the class average. Don't take him if you're not good at learning by yourself. If you have to take him, get an old exam.

I had many complaints about Dr. Benbrook but cannot fit them all in this comment box: Summarized: 1.Scattered lectures, occasional unfinished problems.2.Very little help in office and rude when asked to clarify something in class. 3.Refuses to use online resources(very old school). 4.About 1/4 of class had tests. Very little curve...wish i dropped.

Prof. Benbrook's class is a challenge. His age & his disease gets the best of him sometimes.Text is helpful & should be read.Pay close attention to his lecture because exams have questions he goes over in class.Beneficial for physicists & electrical engineers. If you do well on the 3 hour exams you dont have to take final but your grade can go down.

Prof. Benbrook has high standards and encourages questions. He cares about students understanding the material. He has a moderate temper. He is leniently strict on grading exams and turning in late hw. It's a good idea go to recitation(~8am on Wed.) at which he works the entire test(following Wed. after Friday exam); otherwise he works hw problems.

The book is useless in his class with the exception of homework. Everything on his tests he teaches in class, however 90% of the time you have no idea what he's talking about. The only way to pass his class is to get his old tests as he practically reuses them word for word. This class was the biggest waste of time.

All the things that he wrote on the board will be on the tests. There are 3 tests and a final, the test had 2 parts;easy stuffs(equations memorizing)&hard stuffs(problem solving)if u do well on the 3 tests u r excepted from the final. But if u didn't do well on the tests, do good on the final can help u jump up from B+ to A .Btw, hw grades do matter.

I had Dr. Benbrook for University Physics II. He sometimes gets lost in derivations on the board, and his lectures can be confusing. The tests are nothing like the homework. Everything in the exams is variable based derivations. Through studying old tests and lecture notes, and doing a lot of hard work before the final, I was able to pull an A-.

This class was very trying. Everything is done in integrals. Don't miss any class because his notes are his exams, literally. Pay attention to worked examples, and his "this is a good quiz problem" examples. He's fun, and he goes by class average, so stay above the average.

His tests are his notes. So if you want to be sucessfull in his class (in tests) go to class everyday and read and reread your notes. I thought his class was hard until i met Fleisher, that guy's tests are hard. But benbrook's teachings helped a lot.

Great prof. you'll learn a lot from him but his exams are horribly NASTY. However everything he does is by the class average so stay above and you'll do great. If your an ECE major, stick with him!!! Good luck...
