He doesn't understand basic python functions. His textbook is simply a collection of what he knows not written with student in mind. You'll suffer.

My last review was unfair. He's a great prof! The thing is he wasn't clear abt what he wants, but the same can be said abt all other profs. I wish he has sample exams (with ans) to practice. Other than that, he pushes you hard! You may need to revisit a lot of concepts, but this is the ONLY class worthy of my time. YOU GET THE REAL LEARNING.

He assumes all students are experts at programming. In that case, we won't be taking his class. Basically, there are usually one or two guys who learned from outside. So, with him and these two guys form "expert" groups and look down on others who don't understand. Mostly feel-good jargon-laden language that doesn't do anything... A waste of time..

Comment:
DO NOT take his classes! Dr. Yeager knows his subject, but he is completely incompetent as an instructor. He assumes that you know mathematics and programming at an extremely high level and mumbles the jargon written on his slides without trying to really explain anything. But for outside materials, it is impossible to make sense of anything.

I assume he used to know what he was doing, but most of the assignments felt less like learning and more like decoding confusing instructions. There were several times when I had to email him or see him in person because he had confusing instructions that sometimes didn't present what he meant to say.

Dr. Yeager is probably the least helpful prof I've ever taken. Bring him a problem your program has and he'll tell you, "you should probably fix that". I'm not sure if this is a calculated effort to force you to learn (he is a nice guy), or if he's actually clueless. Lectures will actually lessen your understanding of the material.

Comment:
Dr. Yeager is thoroughly unhelpful, apparently incapable of writing compilable code, make useable in class examples, or actually teach. I am seriously considering switching to another school to avoid taking another one of his REQUIRED classes. All in all, awful.

Comment:
Yeager is a nice enough guy, but his programming class is extremely difficult. Unlike Programming I, this class assumes you are an expert at programming. Offers no in-class practice to be sure you understand the material. Tests are curved by 15+ points, since half the class fails them. I would have failed this class without friends. Stay away.

Yeager is a good guy, and helpful in his office hours, but those with little or no idea how to program will suffer.

If you've never had computer programming experience (like myself), you will probably struggle. Most of what I learned was from book, but he's helpful at office hours. Day to day class is boring, quizzes are easy, programming assignments and tests are difficult. Make friends with other people in the class (can have a different prof), it helps A LOT.

I never attended Grove City College; I had Dr. Yeager multiple times while he taught at the University of Alabama. That was almost 30 years ago, and I'm STILL benefiting from the lessons he taught... not just the subject matter but more importantly, how to study and learn. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Professor Yeager is, without a doubt, the best professor that I ever observed. He is a motivator for those students that coasted through every other class. No matter how smart you are -- he will make you work, and will make you love to work. The comment about him being easy is unquestionably a lie by a student forced to change majors.

Well, have you ever seen Office Space? Dr. yeager is like Milton, apparently he got layed off a while ago and no one ever told him about it, but through some glitch in the system, he still seems to get a paycheck. I took programming with him, got an A and honestly i couldn't tell you the first thing about it, biggest waste of time ever, Stay away!

I am five years out of Grove City but let me tell you, Data Structures with Yeager may have been the foundation to my career, a kind of gateway, after all a lot of people just skip on his course and change majors. You should take him, and make his course your life for one semester. It will pay off richly in the future, I know from experience.

One of the very nicest, relaxed guys I've ever met. Southern gentleman with a relaxed, easy-going charm which keeps classtime loose. Lets u out early ALOT. Tests really hard, but I hate math and (due to much serious studying) was able to pull off an A-. If you're lazy, you need Carlson for buscalc. If ur lazy, heck, you shouldnt be at GCC.

Super nice guy. Kind and friendly. Sometimes lacks clarity in class, but he'll help you out in office hours if you go in. Doesn't mind a little joking around, which gives the class a light spirit. Hard tests.

One of the nicest guys you will ever meet, articulate, sharp, and on task. Very challenging! Has a tendency to make the subject a little more difficult than necessary.
