Amazing teacher!! She has definitely been my favourite yet. She is the nicest prof ever and loves to sit down and talk. She gives great advice and really helps you improve your writing.

McKercher is very approachable. She wants all her students to make it to second year. Take good notes, and study for the exam. Don't be discouraged by the first couple of assignments if you do poorly. Jschool is a learning process.

Great professor! Because she has so much experience in the world of journalism she is able to give great explanations and clear lectures. She really wishes the best for her students and is always there when needed. Although she isn't an easy marker, she is fair.

I liked her. She was very helpful, especially with assignments, and always available by phone/email/office hours. This comes in very handy, especially with all the stress that comes from first year J-School. She had lots of fun stories, which were entertaining but rarely relevant and often took away from the material.

Catherine was great - really made my time at j-skool rewarding, and always had an open door policy for students. Can't believe some of the things written about her, perhaps by disgruntled students who didn't "make the cut." Come on guys, you only needed a B+ right?

Catherine is a very helpful professor and is very passionate about journalism. She can be smug and rude at times. She definitely picks favourites. VERY LEFT-WING BIASED and disrespectful of conservative views.

Acts like she's had decent career, when she didn't. Smug, which runs through whole department, so maybe that's not her fault. Plays favourites. Rewards classic A student behaviour i.e. sucking up.

Only those who can't take criticism find her rude. She is very intelligent and helpful, and she knows what she's talking about! It is not her job to entertain students, its her job to teach them to be great journalists...and she does!

Mother McKercher. Somewhat pompous and condescending, at least to first-year students who she can't bother getting to know until they've "made the cut." Easy exams and assignments if you avoid the trick question(s).
