Great professor! Cook is extremely knowledgeable, and he is always willing to help. Great class for anyone majoring in political science or history. His papers are tough, but if you work hard and go to office hours, good grades are attainable

If you read the assigned quiz readings and take notes in class you will do great. His lectures can be wordy and lengthy but he keeps it interesting with jokes and he gives you every answer he is looking for in the essays. Overall my favorite teacher!

Professor Cook is a very interesting man. I took this class because of all of the amazing things I've heard about him. Although he is a great lecturer and extremely intelligent, he is a difficult grader and doesn't connect to the students. He is unhelpful during office hours and doesn't promote discussion in class. I learned a lot, but GPA suffered

I came to Geneseo with hopes of obtaining a quality education. While I learned to write well in this class, I realized the days of the romantic view "I'll take this class because I'll learn a lot from this professor" are long gone. Bill Cook is the reason why I realized I can only take "easy A" profs if I have any hopes of getting into med school.

Although he is both witty and wise, he tends to be a bit pretentious. Also, left school a week early & left lecture to a fellow professor and had trouble with the final exam because of this. In addition, he was late handing in our final grades and it has now been 3 weeks since the test and I am still waiting for my grade. Hope he is enjoying Italy.

I was looking for an easy A, and that is NOT what he offers. Take a class with him if you are looking for someone to challenge you and make you think. Very interesting, dynamic lecturer. (And his outfits are CRAZY!)

William R. Cook is the man. You have to put in the work to do well. For example, you should write your papers a week before they are due. He likes it when students challenge him. It is important to remember that these professors are not Gods. If you work hard for him, he will really care about how you perform in the class.

He is a very funny man, but this class was just sooooo boring for me. I couldn't keep my eyes open (probably doesn't help that it was an 8:05 class though...). I found this class pretty difficult- he is a hard grader. But, he is one of the coolest professors at Geneseo.

He's the man, easily the most interesting professor I've had at school. Only if you're a crappy writer will you suffer. Papers were challenging, but in a good way, they were actually kind of fun to do since his notes helped so much. In class tests could be tricky, and he's sort of a tough grader, but getting at least a B is not hard by any means.

By far the best professor I have had thus far at Geneseo. Knew just about everything about the subject matter. He is fairly tough in his grading, and if you can't write well forget about taking anything with him. He is very quirky which is a welcome departure from some teachers around here.

Great professor. He has so much knowledge, I never found a question or a topic he did not know the answer too. Almost made me wish I was a history major! We went on a field trip and he had so much cool stuff to tell us. Definitly worth it for anyone in the history field!

I took his Democracy in America INTD 105 last year, and it was AMAZING. It is definately the right class to take for kids who are going into Political Science or History. He is a VERY dedicated teacher, and really likes helping freshman adjust. His papers are tough, but he grades based on improvement. He may take you on a sweet field trip too!

This class really isn't that hard, I just seriously believe that people just really suck at writing. If you're anything remotely solid of a writer you'll have no problem. The reading isn't that much, plus every lecture is interesting. Never once have I day dreamed because the discussions are great. Recommended, interesting and not that hard.

he's not as personal with students as other professors I've had here, but I still like him. He's pretty damn smart and he does have a unique way of making you interested in otherwise boring crap like "the nuns of poitiers"... the papers suck. a lot. but the essays on the exams arent so bad.

I took The Age of Dante with him and Professor Herzman. He is one of the most devoted professors I've ever encountered. He has a genuine interest in the subject and is elated whenever students express an interest. He's very quirky, but that just adds to
