This teacher has experience in both academia and business so he can give you a wide variety of wisdom and advice due to that. His tests can be tough but after the test and his explanation of the test, you will feel as if you have a firm grasp of the material. He is easily available for help through office hours and email.

He assigns tough homework assignments but the tests are easy and as long as you put in a couple hours for homework and go in for office hours or email him when you get stuck you'll do fine.

This class was a roller coaster for me. Once he was in teacher mode I loved the class. Would definitely take another with. Go to his office, get to know him, listen to sis experience because he has lots of industry experience. My only problem is feedback took forever, stay on him about it. Ask for help as soon as you need it, ask early and often

Buhler doesn't care about teaching anymore. He doesn't care about his students or his classes. He puts his professional career above his students, and I honestly believe he doesn't even grade what is turned in but instead gives students grades based upon what he thinks of them as people / professionals. He's used to be great, now he's a wasteOfTime

Has an obvious passion for the field. Is almost always available via email to help with programs, even the night of. Grades a bit harshly, I've turned in programs that worked yet still failed. You will learn a lot in this class though, even if your grades don't reflect it. As with any programming class, be prepared to devote a lot of time.

He is a very good professor who really cares about his students. He seems intimidating at first, but talk to him and he is very personable. He obviously knows what he is talking about, it was an awesome class that i learned alot from.

AMAZING professor! One of the few professors who is honestly concerned about his students and making sure they LEARN. Dr. Buhler is an excellent resource and unlike some of the CSCI professors he is an extremely talented programmer. His class was easy, though it focuses on tests much more than programs (which is good for some).

The final project was the most fun I have had in a class. The writing, not so much. Nice guy, but its pretty funny when he tries to talk tough.

If you are interesting in the computer industry after graduation are NOT taking the major for "easy money", then this is the professor who can help you learn lessons in and out of the field. Enjoyed his style.

His teaching style (at least in Software Engineering) was if you do the work, you got a good grade. This course dealt more with ethics than math and coding, which is a good departmental booster. I approve of him.

Skipped around way too much, never talked about one subject for more than 2 class meetings. Tests didn't cover material from class, which made going to class pointless and boring. Take him but beware that your book will not be used.

Thoroughly enjoyed this professor. Class is conducted like a software engineering job. Teaches intellectual skills as well as how to interact in a group setting while doing a programming project.
