Monk is ok. She is kind of a hardo but if you ask questions and participate she will like you. Projects throughout the semester are rough, I always thought I failed but got a 100% on pretty much all of them (always did them the day before). Exams are ok, if you go to class you will do fine. Don't really need to study. Gives a 20 pt extra credit.

By far my fav professor at UD. 5 projects that build on each other, 4 exams, a final, and extra credit. No HW from textbook. First exam is the hardest but she lets you retake the exact one at end of semester for full credit. Sometimes gives unclear instructions but during office hours she will pretty much do the projects for you.

She is unclear in what we are expected to do. She gives no examples and does a very poor job at explaining things. I strongly suggest any other teacher besides this one for misy261.

Prof Monk was always very excited about the material and gave extra credit on all assignments you submit as classwork, so as long as you show up you'll be fine. After taking 160, most of this material is review and she let us bring a formula sheet to exams if we needed. The exams were always identical to the practice exams. Definitely an easy A

Monk is kind of a hardo but this class was not difficult at all. All you have to do is come to class and do some homework, which may take an hour or two a week but that's literally all it takes to get an A in this class. Exams are just like the homework and in class problems. Attendance is optional but she recognizes the people that show up!

Attendance is only mandatory for the last few weeks of class for group projects (all done in class). Very little work outside class, but the projects she assigns are very similar to her exams. The practical portion of the exams is exactly what she does (multiple times) in class. The group projects are easy as long as you follow directions.

She makes this class harder than it needs to be. The first few weeks of class you're in a classroom and not on computers. This is the hardest part of the course because she gives a written test everyone does badly on and her quizzes are hard to get a handle on at first. Takes the rest of the semester to recover your grade from that.

Easy A, fine professor. She can be a little condescending when answering questions, but not on purpose. The first exam is the hardest. The group project is designed to be done 99% in class, which is very understanding of her.

The class was OK. Attendance was mandatory and hard to make up points for that class. I liked how the group project was broken up over the span of the semester. However, she was very vague with answering questions regarding the project or during tests which was annoying.

Monk is the most condescending teacher at the University of Delaware. She doesn't care about if the students are understanding the material, she strives to show off her MISY prowess and then continues without them. Completely unclear on what she wants for the group projects and if you come to talk to her about anything she will talk down to you

The Quizzes are worth half your grade, so you need to do well on them!!! Just missed an A in the class because I forgot about one of the quizzes. The class is very straight forward and easy if you do your work.

The class overall is very easy, especially if you have taken MISY160. She gives a lot of assignments and many of them are worth less than one percentage point. Some of the more heavily weighted projects are pretty difficult, but they can be done in groups and she will answer emails and help in office hours. The computer tests were easy A's.

The class is overall pretty easy. As long as you understand basic MISY information going into the class you'll be fine. MWF classes consist of only meeting MW and submitted online work for Friday. Each Friday you have class work and a project due. The practice textbook is used for projects so you'll get your money out of that.

Great style of class-- the entire course is centered around two configuration projects that are simply due at the end of the semester, along with a couple of exams and quizzes. You literally do the configurationshomework during class, so as long as you don't procrastinate you can get a really good grade. Professor is always there to help you.

Go to class and pay attention. Other than that the course does not include much studying. The assignments can be tedious but she is very helpful and will give away some of the answers in class. You can work it groups if you would like. If you go to class and pay attention the assignments and exams will not be too difficult. You can get an A .

I enjoyed this class a lot while taking it with Monk. The assignments were tedious, but they teach you what you need to know. Her exams are not difficult and for the final she gives a curve if she thinks the average was low. Just keep up with the work and you can definitely get an A or A-. I recommend her highly!

How does she have ANY positive ratings? I got an A in the class and never struggled but still would NOT recommend her. So rude and condescending, not helpful at all, does random business software in class but never gives instructions and you never get tested on it. Worst professor I've had. She doesn't care about us and I didn't learn a thing.
