His acting class will certainly get you out of your comfort zone. Be ready to participate and work with people. He does have strange warmups and unusual activities- But he has a method to his madness, and you'll leave the class as an actor! We moved online w/ the pandemic, which made the class very strange, but we made it work.

Comment:
Michael's class was very disorganized overall in both the assigned homework and weekly activities in class. Granted, he was busy outside of class but I couldn't help but feel the class was low on his priority list. I think his approach to acting isn't helpful to beginners and I didn't learn much. He's a hilarious and caring teacher though.

Professor Mufson is a great teacher. At first I was uncomfortable because he makes you do weird games like ice breakers at the beginning of every class. But he is very passionate about theatre and what is he teaching. The class and homework are easy. You will have to attend two mandatory Palomar plays and write 5 page papers. I would take him again

Nothing to do with acting. The class is solely graded by these study guides where you copy answers from the textbook, then write about how it relates to the class. There's only one scene at the end, the rest is basically a therapy session/yoga class. He talks too much. Most people didn't do any of the work online, but he didn't seem to care. Easy A

Mufson is a fine teacher. He is very caring and respectful of others. However, he is a little scatter brained. He repeats a lot of things and his lectures go on way longer than they should. The reading is very boring and the homework is difficult. The fun parts are definitely the group projects. He is a fairly easy grader.

Comment:
Professor Mufson did a good job of conveying ideas and methods, though his methods can be quite unconventional. He is understanding but expects to be respected. The reading is important and if you don't have the book you can't do most of the homework. I learned a lot in a comfortable and relaxed environment.

I think most one of the most important things in class was participation. There were a lot of times he would go on tangents and I wasn't sure what it had to do with theater, but he definitely loves it. We had to do a lot of blackboard work, but some of my classmates didn't do it and he didn't say much. Just do the work and you'll be fine.

Mufson's class has several assignments and a lot of reading. Though this is not an online class, he requires a lot of online research and BlackBoard upkeep. Having said that,I'd take and recommend his classes in a heartbeat! He is considerate and knowledgeable, ALWAYS available. You feel empowered to be creative and free to articulate your mind!

He actually threw out his syllabus half way through the semester along with the homework assignments. He is passionate about what he does. He is unclear about what he expects but at the end of the year i realized that was the best part because our final performance was our own work and he did not shape it into what he wanted.

Very passionate about theater and is more concerned that you are passionate as well about the content than being strict. Super reasonable and rational will work with your schedule to see that you can finish assignments because he seems to care more that you can analyze plays with an artistic eye than quit and not try because you missed a deadline.

Great Professor! I loved being in his class. He's very helpful and passionate about what hes teaching. But if you and have preconceived ideas about acting being easy then acting with Mr. Mufson is not for you. The homework isn't too bad, you have to write 8 study guides and hes very lenient on homework. I'd definately take another class with him!

One of the best professors I have ever know. However, his approach to acting is not your typical approach and I would warn thoes who are lovers of realism to stear clear of Profressor Mufson. His approach is very physical and very abstract. Your focus is on gut reactions and raw emotions instead of line readings.

Makes me wonder sometimes if he's making what he says up off the top of his head. I sometimes refer to his class as my running in circles class. He is a very nice guy and will help you with acting but be prepared for a very liberal approch. I would sugest only taking him if your serious about acting
