Dr. Wheeler is an amazing professor. I took her in a completely weird semester due to COVID but she was so adjustable and understanding through the term. Her lectures are interesting and are perfectly balanced with chemistry and fun stories. The courseload is also pretty manageable as long as you keep track of assignments and due dates. Recommend!

Dr. Wheeler is an incredibly kind person. She will advocate for you, fight for you, and help you with issues beyond class work. However, she is scatter-brained and gets off topic easily during lecture. Her quizzes are based off of the first part of each unit, and her tests are based off of the second part of each unit. Getting an A is easy.

Dr. Wheeler is a wonderful human being but is one of those profs who is too smart to teach well. She cares about her students and is helpful, but I was frustrated with her disorganization at times. That said, thermo is a hard class regardless. Keep up with the work and study with others.

Dr. Wheeler is fantastic! I never understood chemistry until I took Thermo with her (I nearly failed my first chemistry class at Furman). She explains things so well and does whatever she can to help her students. She is also hysterical! Keep up with the Mastering and go get help if you need it, and you'll get a good grade & love the class.

She is very passionate about chemistry and does the best she can to help you understand. The course itself is very difficult but doable. You have to be willing to take the time to practice and meet with her if confused or the test will be impossible. Overall enjoyed the class, even if putting in days of work only meant doing mediocre.

Dr. Wheeler is a nice lady but a very hard professor. I think she would make a good advisor or research partner but her class is impossible. She expects you to dedicate 90% of your time outside class to her course. Be prepared to study for days only to do mediocre at best. She's hilarious tho so that's a plus

She is a wonderful teacher who is a tough grader and makes you work for your grade, but all around I loved her class. She posts notes online and definitely works with you if there was a personal problem and could not attend class.

I love Dr. Wheeler; she is a fantastic professor!! She is hard, but that is the class. You have to put a lot of effort in or your grade will reflect that. Study Groups are a MUST. She is willing to help you outside of class and wants you to be successful, but you have to put the work in. She cares about her students and will do anything to help!!!

Definitely not the easiest teacher but she is super funny and the class is enjoyable. Do mastering and study multiple days in advance and you'll be fine.

Keep up with the mastering and read the textbook. When exam time comes around redo the mastering problems and study from the in-class notes. She's a great teacher and more than willing to help if you go and see her. Some parts of the class move quickly, so make sure to not get behind.

Dr. Wheeler is great. She is super helpful especially for student like me that weren't doing well. The class is VERY hard but that not Wheeler's fault. Thermo is just hard material. Good lectures and generous with pre typed lecture notes. She uses Mastering Chemistry and which is helpful because it's worth a test grade. I'd recommend Wheeler.

Would not choose to take Wheeler! The weekly quiz/test is annoying to have to study for each week. Test questions do not follow the homework examples. She makes it seem like you do not have to read the book, but her lectures do not cover everything that you need to know. Do not recommend unless chemistry comes easily for you. Not straightforward!

Picks favorites, and demands that problems are worked her way. Does not use the book in any way (openly admits so), and often wastes time talking about irrelevant information. This being said, she is very willing to help.

Great class, Really enjoyed going, learned a lot. This class might be hard if you have no motivation of interest in chemistry. But if you like math and problem solving it will be a breeze. Test questions were a bit ambiguous and i suffered a little bit there, but other wise, not bad. DO HOMEWORK, it'll help your grade

Worst science professor ive ever had. She has an annoying voice, she picks favorites, she won't help you, and it is super hard to motivate yourself to study the ridiculous stupidity of thermo

she's a really good teacher and for me, her problem examples were very helpful. her tests are hard and tricky but they're not impossible, as long as you study and do the homework in advance. the quizzes are easy and there were only three labs that took little time ( compared to the ochem labs). you can make an A; like i said, IT'S NOT IMPOSSIBLE

I don't know about all these positive comments. She was so unhelpful and just sent me an email telling me to drop her class. The examples she gives in class are so much easier than the book and tests. They fool you into thinking you understand material when you don't. I worked and studied hard and still didn't do well. DON'T TAKE HER!

Hands down the best teacher I have ever had, regardless of subject. Makes a subject which can be overwhelming at times very easy to learn. Takes all the time in the world to explain concepts. Fair grading and tests.

The absolute best teacher I've ever had in my entire life, for any subject. She is fun, clear, gives a resonable workload, and really just cares that you learn the material more than anything. I learned better in her class than I have in any other. Ever.

Dr. Wheeler is a very good professor. Her lectures are very informative and helpful. The quizzes aren't too bad. However, the tests are challenging and very tricky. You think you do alright but then your grade is always lower than what you expected. In summary, you will learn a lot, but your grade may not be where you would like it.
