She's very intelligent and clearly knows what she's saying. Class mostly consists of lectures and in class activities. However, she thinks we have the whole day to read through a chapter (approx 60 pg) every night. Tests are some what easy, I got an A overall.

I had Dr. Serdikoff for PSYC 390 and 480. She was one of the best professors JMU had to offer. Her syllabi were fair and detailed, leaving nothing to interpretation. Her grading was extremely hard, but fair, because she wanted us to become better psychologists. She was an extremely dedicated behavior analyst, and the field sorely misses her.

Dr.Serdikoff is more than fair. You receive extra credit everytime you go to class, you are able to take the quizzes multiple times. She does grade hard for the paper, but she lets you choose which one to do (there is a different topic every week). If you do a paper in the 1st 7 weeks, you get to edit her corrections and turn it in for a better grade

STEER CLEAR! She grades her research summaries ridiculously hard. Her quizzes are impossible, the questions are unbelievably particular. I took the class online, & the syllabus was impossible to figure out on my own, with far too many rules & requirements for only 14 quizzes & 2 papers!

The only people who find Serdikoff's class hard are the people who aren't dedicated, and shouldn't be in the major anyways. Consider Dr. Serikoff the psychology department's way of weeding out the riff-raff.

This professor was awful! Seriously awful! I was absolutely dissapointed in this class with this professor. I didn't feel like she tried to make it interesting, and the way she grades papers is ruthless!! And she seemed like she didn't care at all about the students! I recommend DO NOT take this class with this professor.

Class policies are ludicrously idiosyncratic. She goes beyond a helpful specificity to the point that figuring out the structure of the class is the biggest challenge. Grades harder on writing than anyone else I've had. I ALWAYS get As on papers, except in her class in which I got Cs. Quirky and genuine as a person, awful as a teacher. Steer clear.

She is precision clear on what she expects of you and how the class works but the quizzes are difficult and the summaries are impossible. I may just not write that well but regardless, she grades ridiculously hard and will pick apart your paper. You can pass the class, I got a B, but if you don't need the class then I suggest you don't take it.

She teaches as if everyone is already an expert on the subject. I would not recommend her. I came into psychology major excited and this class solely has made me consider switching majors. You basically teach yourself everything, write a paper that she grades EXTRMELY meticulously. This class is a kill-joy for any psyc major.

I find this person's comments very disrespectful - I would hope that most students go to class and study. The problem in this case is not the student, but rather this professor. She is the ONLY psyc professor at JMU that I would NEVER recommend to another student. I could not say enough negative things about her.

Yeah, her class is tough, but this is college. People who do bad slack until the end of the semester and then complain about catching up. If you do the work, go to class (imagine that!), and ask her questions, you'll learn a ton. People who rate her poorly are just lazy and don't know how to study.

HANDS DOWN WORST PROF AT JMU! You could not pay me to take any of her classes again. You know a class is truly terrible when you never have to go but it still ruins your life. At most 1-2 people went to class, all the quizzes and 2 papers are done online...aka you learn nothing. Very hard grader on the papers and asks ridic picky questions on quiz.

She doesn't teach. If you do go to interteaching sessions, she does nothing but talk in circles the entire time. Her quizzes assess pretty picky details that do not necessarily reflect your overall understanding of the material. I've never disliked a class until this class. Therefore, I do NOT recommend. She's not inspiring. Class = waste of

ABSOLUTE WORST PROFESSOR AT JMU AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS! By far the worst psyc professor and I couldn't stress more NOT to take her class. Unnapproachable, rude, condescending, anal, don't even begin to describe her. You know a class is horrible when you never have to go to it but it still ruins your life. Made me rethink my major and future. AWFUL!

Yes people, she's tough and a little intimidating at times, but most of all she is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Also, remember that the subject she's teaching is rather tough to begin with. If you want a challenge, take her for any class. She really does care about her students so give her a chance! :)

The interteaching format is nice b/c it means that you do not have to interact with her that much, which is a good thing if you ever have any issue arise during the semester. She is not very flexible when it comes to scheduling. Unless she is the only teacher for a class that you want/need to take, avoid her.

The book is what teaches you most of the material. You sometimes wonder what your tuition is doing in paying her, because like I said you learn more from the book. She knows what she is talking about and she is willing to help you if you need help. I liked learning about Behavior Analysis, so if you like the material then this class will be easy.
