An actual angel. His lectures are a little boring, but he makes up for it because he is such a a gem. Understanding and compassionate, passionate and a relatively easy marker. It's not an easy course per say, but as long as you do the work you can easily get a good mark. Very lenient on deadlines. Attendance is needed, but participation is written

He is a great prof, very accommodating after I had a concussion. Great lectures, great energy, great guy! Learned a lot and he was encouraging. It's because of him I pursued an English degree. I received a great mark.

Watched some great films and had even better discussions about them in class. If you don't want discussion, it's not necessary to go to class, just watch the movies on your own time. He gave us the midterm and final questions a couple of weeks in advance to prepare our answers. He can ramble at times but I loved him.

I feel lucky to have chosen to major in english because if I hadn't, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to be taught by Professor Salmon. He is an amazing prof!

He is the best prof I've had as an undergraduate. While yes, some might say he is a tough marker, he very clearly states what he is expecting so if you get a low grade it's typically for lack of listening to his grading criteria. His lectures can be a little dry but he is such an interesting and caring soul that it's worth it to attend class!

Certainly not a tough professor and if I had one criticism it would be that there is the potential for students to slack off, because he is so understanding and laid back. Conversely Paul Salmons lectures are always interesting and he will always give you good feedback and make himself available. If you put in the work he can teach you a lot.

lectures are so boring. does not speak loud enough and mumbles a lot. assignment instructions are not clear at all. I started as an English major and ended up switching majors because of this BS. probably a nice man outside of class, but did not like him as a prof at all. 5 quizzes, lowest 2 dropped. 2 lectures a week and 1 seminar. TAs aren't good

Professor Salmon is really passionate and knowledgeble about his subjects and he is quite helpful if you go and see him in office hours. The one thing that can be a bit of a problem is that he doesn't tend to be very clear on assignment instructions sometimes (length for example).

Get used to yawning. Seriously this class is so boring that the only way to get through it is thinking about how you only have it once a week. This class can make someone with insomnia fall asleep instantly. I regret taking this course, this is the educational system's version of watching paint dry.

I dread going to this class each week. It's hard to follow what's going on in that class. The TA's mark really hard and don't come to class so don't realize how we don't actually learn anything. Prof. Salmon seems like a really sweet guy but he doesn't teach anything. I study for other courses in this class.

A nice man but rambles A LOT.It's impossible to pay attention. His classes makes you want to fall asleep and 50% of the students leave during the break. Doesn't teach anything but his TA's mark really hard!
