I love Hastings. He is a great person and I wish he wasn't retiring! His lectures were dull though, and a lot of the stuff was common sense. Don't get why email etiquette and computer hardware are in the same class. Assignments took forever.

An intro to data analysis class should be helpful for all students to learn how to use excel, but this professor is so old fashioned that the assignments are totally impractical and I didn't learn anything usable. Despite working hard on all assignments, attending class, and studying hard in a group for exams, I didn't do as well as I should have.

Professor Hastings is a funny guy, funny voice too. He's an old school style professor, doesn't use sakai or canvas. Class is just lecture most of the time and pointless to go to unless he says he's taking attendance for it. 2 exams, a midterm and a final. Just do all of the assignments, they're labs from the excel and access books and you're good.

He definitely made learning the subject bearable, if not slightly interesting to me. He's a great guy and definitely cares about his students and their success. Also, as someone who is not an ECON major, I think he did a great job presenting the material in a way I could understand. I did have to re-teach myself a lot before the exams though.

Least favorite professor I have ever had. Horrible lectures. He says you do not need the textbook, however, even though I attended every lecture I still had to teach myself every concept we learned. The website Investopedia will be your best friend if you want a good grade in the class. Always double check his gradebook because he is unreliable.

Hastings is a great guy, really corny. He takes attendance. Lectures are boring. Powerpoints are online. Assignments are easy, he goes over them and moves back the date almost every time. Tests are super easy. Easy A, nice guy, suggest if it is for your major or a breadth requirement.

great guy - class really is not bad. assignments are time consuming (majority of grade) but not hard - highly recommend going to his office hours if you need help. lectures are long and pretty boring but powerpoints are posted online. Only 2 exams - need to know a lot of info for tests but they are very short (kind of annoying).

Hastings is the man. Go to class and participate. Very helpful, wants you to do well. Assignments are straight-forward and majority of grade. Take your time on them and it's an easy A. He has a funny voice. The kind of guy you want to do well for. My advisor so I know him very well.

Hastings is a really nice guy but he's not very intelligent. He messes up multiple times on the tests (he said the supply curve slopes down), and his teaching is a bit boring. He also assigns a lot of long assignments. But if you make it through the class it'll likely be with a B or above.

Hastings is a good guy. Not the best teacher, but he's been around for a while and is there to help you if you need it. Some of his test questions are very poorly worded, so don't be afraid to ask for clarification. Overall easy class.

Make sure you buy the book and do the assignments. If you do the assignments right (They're fairly simple), you can skip the tests and get a C in the class. Most of the grade is assignments. The tests do require paying attention, which is the only hard part of the class... You WILL at some point doze off or play on your laptop. Great guy!!!

This class is pretty simple, basic economics explained. Book is not really needed, maybe just for some more background. DO THE HOMEWORKS! They count for like 3/4 of the grade and he always goes over them the day they're due so you can take home and fix your mistakes. Lots of material for the exams but the HW will def. boost grade. Very helpful guy

Awesome Professor!! Class is pretty straightforward and he is extremely helpful. Pay attention in class for sure as he does go over stuff that's not explained well in the textbook. He gives you second chances on assignments that you screw up without penalty (as long as you have the assignment that day in class) TAKE PROFESSOR HASTINGS. He's the Man

Really great guy. Highly recommend taking if in honors as it is an easy honors section. Tests come right out of the powerpoints and assignments, and are very easy to do well on if you study a little. The class is slow at times, but overall it wasn't too bad, definitely worth it

Dr. Hastings is one of my favorite professors! His class was challanging, but he explains material well. He has assignments throughout the semester that go along with the power points. Go to class and pay attention. I started sitting in the front the last half of the semester and it helped me stay focused and I got an A in the class.

I had him for FREC135 and 150. He's very likable and surprisingly funny, as well as very available outside the classroom for help. But, in class, I had difficulty going/paying attention. He rambles...a lot. The Exams for both 135 and 150 were semi-challenging and required class attendance and lots of studying.

Professor Hastings is one of the greatest human beings on Earth. He is willing to help anyone who comes to him and gives extra time to hand in assignments if need be. His class is very dull but he does his best to entertain his students with jokes from when he went to school at UD.
