Best professor Ive ever had. U of L is lucky to employ him. Exams require you to read and properly prepare... if this is a problem for you... its your problem. Hes brilliant, and, as such... he gives an A for pathetic, miserably inadequate efforts. Thats the burden of such brilliance in a small Uni... he knows it... I got an A and I know it.

If you sleep in Doctor Brown's class, you're not going to do well. But serious Philosophers at the UofL must take classes with him!

I didn't really enjoy Prof. Brown's class, but maybe it's because philosophy has always been hard for me. He talks really fast and kind of rushes through each assigned paper. I don't need any more philosophy classes so, thank goodness I don't have to take a class with him again.

The first class i took with Bryson was solely for the content, but after having him as a professor once I had to have him again for Phil 3280. He's an extremely engaging lecturer, who his clear, although the content he teaches is often quite difficult itself. But he does a great job of explaining it. Very humble and light-hearted.

Dr. Brown's passion for what he teaches makes the subject less intimidating than it actually is. His intelligence and vocabulary are far beyond that which most undergraduates can immediately comprehend, but once you learn to understand what he is saying, you will learn more in his class than you ever thought possible. The text book was okay.

Excellent Professor. The most intelligent person I've ever met. Clear, passionate, and thorough. Willing to help you in any way that he can. He inspired interest in the subject in a way that no professor ever has. Best professor I've ever had.

The only situation in which I wouldn't be pissed about our raised tuition is if the money were being used to build a giant marble statue of Bryson in U Hall. Seriously. This man is brilliant. Tons of great feedback on papers and the lectures.... oh the lectures... even three hours is too short.

I hope that when Dr. Bown is finished at the U of L that they will set up a huge gold statue of him because that's what this prof was to me Gold Gold and more Gold. The Best Prof I ever had at Lethbridge. I wish he could be there for a million years. If you can take a more easy intro level class with him do so. His logic classes must be hard! :)

Bryson is incredibly smart, and he's great at keeping his lectures interesting. Phil of Space, Time, & Matter assumed that you have a background in science. If you don't, expect to do what I did: basically, memorize the text books. Bryson is a very difficult marker, but he gives out the ques. in advance. He's very helpful if you ask!

Was expecting a breeze class to boost my GPA and I definitely encountered the opposite. For an intro course he makes it surprisingly hard. You are required to read all of the assigned reading religiously and complete essays which are harshly critiqued. The class is overall interesting but definitely not a blow-off class.

Brown made this class very very interesting when the material taught by someone less engaged could have been dreadfully dull. He's intimidatingly intelligent but this by no means comes across as arrogant or condescending. Definitely take a class with him!

This prof knows his stuff. He is acting, engaging and through provoking. Very balanced, and is open to all differing opinions. Subject matter can be challenging if it is not your subject. Plenty of papers, exams are easy to ace, if you read.....Readings are mega important, if you want a good grade, going to lectures can help interpret readings

A very interesting class, just like all of Bryson's. His courses are always challenging, though due to the fact that he distributes questions in advance of the test, if you are willing to put the work in you'll do well. Essays are another story, as Bryson is quite a hard marker; but he is always willing to red ink. Great teacher.

He's very charismatic. He can get sidetracked fairly easily- this class was difficult but I had no phil background whatsoever. He marks essays very hard, which is lame because we write them in class.

This is probably the hardest philosophy course I've ever taken; Wilfrid Sellars is really out there and difficult to read, and when you combine that with Bryson's nature it makes for an incredibly tough course. That being said, Dr. Brown is always willing to explain things further. If you take this course from him; don't skip class!

A very smart teacher, Bryson can sometimes be a bit intimidating to take a class from, because he always seems like he is talking over your head. Going to class is probably a really good idea, especially in his higher level courses, lest you be left in the dust. A bit of a hard marker on essays in my book, but pretty fair all around.

Mr Brown really knows his stuff The most knowledgeble prof I had! Metaphysics was extremely interesting but kinda hard and you can tell he is passionate about what he teaches and does a very good job of it, He is very respectful to the student and a great help if you dont understand. Only un-intelligent people would hate him. My favorite prof ever!
