Comment:
Bartha is very smart and knows his stuff very well. But, that does not mean he is a good teacher. He does not make slides, does not upload any materials, scribbles on the board which no one can read, you cannot listen to him because he mumbles and speaks so quietly. However, he is helpful if met in the office and marks easy.

Had Dr. Bartha for two consecutive semesters now. The material was tough, and the assignments and labs are challenging. Dr. Bartha was an excellent professor, given the level of difficulty of the material. He was always available for extra help, and I would gladly have him as a prof again. No place for wimps tho! Prepare to work!

Very hard to understand what he is saying because most of the time he is only talking to himself . Doesn't respond well when requested to repeat what he said.

I wouldn't recommend anyone take this professor. If you can, avoid him. He knows his stuff, but he has no idea how to teach. His handwriting is bad, and he mostly writes notes on the board. Moreover, he makes his assignments so difficult and doesn't give examples on how to even start them.

Get the textbook. Get notes online. Bartha knows his stuff, and asking him questions helps a lot for specifics, but you will be teaching yourself most of this course. Best kind in the lab, him and the other TAs are great at answers, less than ideal in the class. Still good to attend class and see how the diagrams work.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Thick accent, mumbles, very rude when talking to students. This is a math course (discrete mathematics 2320) and he would not post steps to solutions, only the answer. Upon asking for help he would sarcastically call you stupid(has happened to myself and 3 friends multiple times). Would be great course if it wasn't for this man.

His lectures are confusing, but his is very helpful if you ask him questions one to one. He is ready to help you with everything (assignments, quiz, lab) but you need to ask for help.

By far the worst professor I have ever had. His writing is illegible, he posts little to nothing in the way of notes, and frequently assignments and quizzes require knowledge that wont be taught until after it is due, if it is taught at all. If you take class with him, prepare to teach yourself everything.

Can't read his writing, can't understand him, and the textbook he recommends is awful. Assignments can be difficult, but are doable and midterms are fair. Will scold you if you ask a question.

Really can't hear what he's saying; seems to make a lot of assumptions; therefore what he writes on the board look like hyroglifics. Good for asking questions 1 to 1, but lectures feel like massive time wastes.

The worst professor I have seen in my entire life. He has the knowledge of the material he is teaching but he forgets that no one else knows the technical jargon he speaks in. He looks at the floor during the entire class and speaks to himself. Moreover, you can't ask questions during the class because he refuses to look at the students.

Very nice man, if you go to his office he will help you with any questions you have. He is very intelligent but sometimes when trying to help explain things he goes too in-depth and loses you.

You can tell that this prof is very smart but just does not know how to teach. It feels like he is just talking to himself. He is not clear and I never knew what was going on because he would just start with no explanation as to what he was going to talk about. I would avoid taking classes with Bartha if the class is offered with another prof.

Probably the worst prof I've ever had at MUN. You have to attend his lectures since it's the only way to get the hand outs / assignments, but Bartha can't teach. He mumbles to himself and scribbles on the board. It's impossible to understand either.

He is a terrible instructor, both written and vocally. He mumbles and his notes are hard to decipher from the board. The fact that he remains a professor shows the terrible condition our CS department is in. One thing is he looks like Rudy from the TV show Survivor which is amusing.

Comment:
He is ok. Bad lecturer - true. But! He wants his students to do well. You can get a good grade in his course if you do the assignments and read and understand the handouts. It's university, NOT high school - you are expected to learn a lot on your own.
