I took PHIL102 and PHIL320 with Professor Pust, and I think he's a great professor. I thought his lectures were interesting and engaging. The tests required a good amount of studying, but they were manageable, especially if you pay attention in class. Even though the readings can be tough, he explains them in detail in lecture which helps.

Neat class. Do your readings and take notes in class. Look up the topics on Stanford or Britannica as well, as it will help a ton. Don't complain to him about your grade (it's futile). Watch the Matrix trilogy before you enter the class. Then watch it again having learned about skepticism and free will and morality. Will be a cool experience.

Im saddened to give a negative review because I was really looking forward to this class. this class is so confusing and uninteresting too; it doesn't help how terribly he creates his slideshows either. Definitely would be a cool guy to grab lunch, seems smart and cares about philosophy, but this class kinda sucked. Could be rude to students too

Unless you are already a philosopher, you will not understand his material. 3 exams, that's it. He doesn't post slides, so you have to go to class to sit through his very confusing lectures and attempt to write everything down for the minute each slide is up. He is rude and won't help you whatsoever. Do yourself a favor and don't take this class.

Very rude and super condescending. not willing to help at all. No grades besides clicker questions and 3 exams, so if you fail an exam youre screwed. Find a different professor.

3 exams make up the whole class credit and some clicker questions. His slides stay on the board for about 5 minutes so you are forced to write it down as quick as possible. No electronics in the class. Went to talk to him for help in the class and he was extremely condescending and rude. I would suggest a different Philosophy professor.

3 exams, no homework. He doesn't post notes online so you have to go to every class and do the reading. Tests can be kind of confusing but he gives generous curves. Studied a few days before each exam and got 2 high As and one high B. Would take again if I had to.

Dr. Pust's lectures are boring and his slides are not posted on Canvas so you need to be a fast note taker. The entire semester's grades were based off three exams. There are no quizzes, practice problems, or homework to actually help you prepare for the exams so I do not recommend this class if you are new to philosophy and know nothing about it.

Dr. Pust is a great professor for the subject he teaches. I dislike philosophy in general, but we had a paper, 2 exams with 4 quizzes spaced out. You don't have to do the readings (ONLY!!!! if you go to lecture) - if you actually do the readings then yes you will need the book. Otherwise this class is light on outside work and I would recommend it.

I hope you like listening to hours of boring lectures because that is what you will get when you take this class online. I thought I liked abstract concepts before I took this class, now I am just traumatized. Good information, but without youtube, I would not have passed this class. Test are hard too. He knows his stuff, however.

an extremely difficult class for a breadth requirement. i transferred late into the class and never received credit for iclicker points. he only gives 3 exams with essay questions and I have never been able to review them. his class is hand note based and he refuses to put his material on sakai. he is one of the most frustrating professors at UD.

I honestly loved this class. Pust knows and enjoys what he teaches. The class isn't the easiest A you'll ever get, but it's far from difficult. Definitely attend lectures, the notes are crucial and he doesn't post them. Study a night or two before the exam, know how to write an argument for or against the concepts, and you'll be totally fine.

I took him online over winter and it was awful. You had to watch an hour and 15 minute lecture everyday and read. He asks specific questions about the reading on the exams and his only grades are four exams. Two were 25% , one was 30% and another was 20%. He did curve the first two exams and I assume thats because everyone did poorly. NOT an easy A

I usually can do well if I go to class and don't study as much, or don't go to class much and study hard. I studied hard and hardly ever missed class and STILL didn't get the grade I think I deserved. 3 weeks before the final exam, announced it would be 45% of your grade. Tests seemed easy, my grade said it was just an unnecessarily tricky game.

Seriously love him. The way he lectures you can just tell he knows what he's talking about and that he's passionate about it. He's pretty clear. Go into the class with an open mind you will learn a lot. It's not about opinions, but about seeing different sides of real contemporary moral problems.
