Professor Hugo is amazing. He's pretty knowledgeable and loves to share that with his students. His tests can be really difficult so you'll need to put in some work. He's very accessible outside of class and always answers every question you may have.

Chill professor, material mostly isnt hard to understand. HW answers can be found online, generous grading by Hugo on the exams, and sometimes by the TA for quizzes. Midterm format sucks as a few questions are given w/ unequal value, although he sometimes gives question in advance. final grading is harsh, as he only gives 10% of the class an A.

Lecture notes are posted online and easy to understand. Not hard to get an A, if you do the work. He is generous in giving partial credit on hw, quizzes, and exams. He is very knowledgeable and is willing to help you understand the topics in depth (if needed) during his office hours.

By far the greatest Economics professor the department has to offer, or so that I've experienced so far. He a great lecturer, he cares for his students, and his ability to interact and relate with students is what him great. The course is taught as a graduate course, but because of his greatness you wouldn't be phased.

Great Professor. Cares a lot about his students. Its one of the toughest economics class at sbu and it is taught like a graduate class (although he says he made it a lot easier!). He will never write you off and will give you a chance to improve and prove your commitment to the material taught. Best Econ Professor at SBU.

This class was the hardest class I ever took in Stony. However, if you do all the work and show effort, he will take notice and it is curved in the end. Not for people who want an easy A, but well worth it for all the materials you learn.

He's the head of the Economics Graduate Program at SBU, so he teaches ECO 323 like a graduate-level class. Not for slackers, you definitely need to GO TO CLASS and DO YOUR HW. He's flexible in his Office Hours offered and puts all of the notes online day 1 so if you don't read, it's your own fault. Amazing professor & gives great recommendations!

I think he is a very good professor. I learned a lot in his class and he kept everything interesting and explained it well. In fact I think I learned more in his class than any class thus far at SBU. He is a pretty fair grader. However, the class IS difficult. Out of 59 students: 2 A's, 4 A-, and 10 F. Most important thing is to go to CLASS !!!

He's not a good professor. He knows his stuff but he really can't teach. He expects students to learn on their own. He even says that homework will contain problems he didn't discuss about in class. You will learn more from the TA than you will from him. Don't take his classes. You'll be better off with a better professor and learn more.

This class is pretty awesome. He touches on many different topics and is clear and helpful. He cares more about you understanding the problem and your economic intuition than getting the 'right' answer because he understands that in the real world there may never be a right answer. The material is harder than an average ECO class but well worth it.
