Comment:
Dr. Beck seems to care about her students learning and is usually available to answer questions and help out. However, she makes mistakes all the time, which students typically have to correct or she won't notice. The class was 3 projects, 4 open-notes quizzes, and a ProctorU final exam. Study and watch her lectures, and the class is pretty easy.

Comment:
Beck is a nice enough professor, but she's not an engaging lecturer. She's also very political and makes sure to devote time every class to explain how awful socialism and raising the minimum wage are to the economy, while praising capitalism. As a broke college student, it gets annoying quickly.

Comment:
Professor Beck seems dull at first, regarding the heavy lecturing and teaching style. However, after I few classes I LOVE Prof. Beck. She connects a lot of the content in class to real-world examples. She captured my attention in each lecture, especially when I had her in-person. She is well-respected and I would love to have her again.

Professor Beck gives extremely boring lectures that do not involve the students at all. She did not post a single grade for our entire class before our final exam. Gave zero grades the entire semester and then hits you with a major project with little guidance, an extremely time consuming book report, and a very difficult final.

Professor Beck is such a nice and sweet person but her lectures are so hard to sit through sometimes. The class is by no means the hardest and the projects she assigns are super interesting and good grade boosters. 4 "quizzes" are actually tests but are all definitely fair.

One of the smartest professors I've had at UD. 4 exams and 3 projects, projects are easy and exams aren't bad if you go to review session and study the practice problems. Class at first seems confusing but she's just deriving the equations that you will need throughout the section. Overall great professor and class.

Really means well. Probably the most boring professor when it comes to lectures but makes up for it by being very available with office hours. Doesn't have any exams, just a lot of quizzes and projects. If you show up to class and talk to her, you'll do fine. Not an easy A, but could do well if you put a little effort.

Dr. Beck is very helpful. She is very willing to help students that struggle, and anyone that disagrees simply didn't try hard enough. I failed my first two tests, but after getting help from her I got As for the remainder of the course. I should have ended the class with a B, but she saw that I put in a lot of effort, giving me an A. Go to class!

Dr Beck is a really nice lady. For class there are projects and quizzes. If you go to her office she will help you with that material. Very smart and you learn some cool things. Class can be boring. It it's econ so that's expected.

Professor Beck is definitely not the kind of Professor you want for an intro class, but the two classes I have taken were extremely fair in terms of material and grading. She's exceptionally intelligent and her classes were far more engaging than most other high level econ classes. Be prepared to work.

Dr. Beck is definitely not what the other reviews suggest. She is willing to make herself available to help her students. 4 quizzes, 3 Projects, Final exam. Similar quiz questions given ahead of time to study. Projects are a grade booster. Course material is extremely tough, however. Get ready to study

She is very knowledgable, the class is very easy. She takes the practice problems she gives you and uses it on the exam. She definitely knows what she's talking about and is very friendly. Extra credit is given by doing some lengthy assignment. But can really boost your grade to an A if you are looking to get an A.

Lectures were long and unorganized, tests were basically just the practice questions re-worded so use those, but the class is not easy. Four tests and two papers. Good luck

Tests were straight from the practice exams. Class was so boring, didn't learn anything just memorized the practice exams. She gave 4 opportunities for extra credit and they were hard but do them! So many points received from the extra credit. Lectures pointless but she takes attendance and if you miss more than 2 you don't get the curve at the end

I am NOT an ECON major but enjoyed the class. Her voice is quite monotone but her dry humor can be endearing if you understand a bit of ECON... She truly wants you to do well. Skim the book, really study the practice exams, and do all the extra credit and you'll be fine. Warning: fiscal conservative. If you're liberal, ask questions carefully.

Mandatory attendance but lectures are pointless. If you're interested in what she's talking about, it's good, otherwise, do other work. You can pass the exams by memorizing the practice ones and going through the book and MyEconLab on your own. Extra credit really helps your grade, she gives a lot of it. It's annoying, but do it.

Lectures are pointless and you do not need to pay attention at all to get an A in this class. Memorize the practice exams for the tests and briefly go through the book= easy A/B. Plus, she gives extra credit. They are tedious and hard but they boost your grade. She's also super nice if you go to office hours. Her voice is boring but you can do well

I definitely recommend this class. I never really read the book that much and have still done well on the exams. Just pay close attention in lecture and you'll do fine. She has an interesting perspective on the material.
