Muzzall was a okay teacher at best. Hes one of those guys that reads verbatim what he puts on the board. I went to the office hours a many times for help and he blatantly refused to help me. There are only three tests, they arent hard but that is all you are graded on so if you do bad on one test it hurts pretty bad. Would 10/10 would not reccomend

Dr. Muzzall was a good professor and a nice guy. I liked his "old school" methods of lecturing and the material was presented clearly. There were 3 pop quizzes throughout the semester which counted as extra credit towards your grade. Exams are tough, but if you study his lecture notes and the book questions you will be fine!

Quirky is the best way to describe Muzzall. He's old school, like still uses an overhead projector kind of old school. He would get a higher score, except the class is VERY exam heavy. There is no homework or quiz buffer, it's all exams with a little extra credit. Easy material, but a lot of people end up right on the line of one grade or another.

Exams are in "Choose the best answer" and example format. Lectures are purely note taking. There is a lot of material on the exams.

Take his notes, read the book, and show up for some extra credit quizzes. This guy is an awesome professor and he sounds like John Goodman. Tests are easy as long as you do what he tells you to in order to study for them.

I really liked this professor. His teaching methods are old school and his lectures are dry, but he sets you up for success. Take good notes, read the book, and take chapter quizzes. Tests can be tricky if you don't study, but you shouldn't expect to ace a biology exam without studying. He always takes questions in class and clarifies if necessary.

This class was my hardest. He isn't that helpful and doesn't give a lot of opportunity to make up your grade. It's just exams and a final. If you don't attend class, you will not pass! I also discovered clutch prep thanks to my friend which REALLY helped me understand bio better

If you attend lecture, pay attention, read the chapters and actually do the end of chapter question, you should have no problem passing this class with at least a 3.0. His lectures are clear and he is willing to answer any questions. Great guy.

He is extremely un helpful I attended help hours and he never even recognized my name when I emailed him with questions. His exams were not similar to the notes and he is unhelpful with questions as well.

Best professor ever ! Most students here complain because they don't attend lecture and don't read the book. If you are taking a biology class, rote memorization is the only way to learn. Sorry people, but grow up - welcome to college! He is an advanced professor, and I'm grateful to have him share his knowledge of basic biology with me.

Oh boy. Basically what everyone else said. the course will be changed because so many people failed. Quizes at the end of the chapters need to be taken. I read all the chapters covered word by word and still didn't do well (passed but not with a high grade). It might be hard but try to find exams from past years. Those helped me the most.

STAY AWAYYY! The average on our last exam was a 63%. He added 7% to everyone's grade, but over half the class had below a 2.5 still. He does not teach, he just reads his ridiculously old notes to you. It looks like he's had the same overhead projector slides forever, and his notes organization is terrible. GET A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR!

Fairly interesting lectures, though he pretty much just reads off of his notes. He is very unapproachable, as he always tells you to just ask the TA instead of him. The exams aren't that bad, because he pulls half of the questions from the end of chapter self-quiz. Everything is fair game, he disagrees with the book a lot, but not a bad teacher.

DONT TAKE THIS TEACHER. horrible tests.. nothing on the lecture notes will show up on the test, he doesnt care about your grade and wont help you. I've read and memorized everything in lecture for his exams and that only accounted for like 10 out of 40 questions, the rest were all material that we have not even got near in class... DONT TAKE HIM!!

This professor really enjoys biology but seems to think that everyone should memorize his notes and the book for a intro into biology course. He blames students for doing poorly even though usually 1/3 of the class gets 0.0 on each exam. I studied every night for a week plus 20 hours the weekend before to get a 4.0 on an exam. avoid this prof!!!!!

"everything is fair game" is the quote of every day when asked "will this be on the exam?" Basically, the exams are over anywhere from 5-8 chapters and you need to know EVERYTHING in detail. He hates the book and disagrees with it often, very unapproachable, and even after studying for hours and hours, day after day, I still did bad on the exams.

He is the worst professor ever. He takes notes and doesn't put them in his own words...just writes paragraph long definitions during the most boring 50 minutes you'll ever experience. The tests are difficult and he won't help you be successful in the class even if you ask. He sucks. Don't take this course with him.

Unorganized, doesn't connect to the textbook at all. Tests contain unexpected material, even if you study alot. Boring 9 AM lecture, with ALOT of notes.
