She is very opinionated and if your opinion isnt hers, its wrong. Make sure to do exactly as she asks, or you wont do well. No matter how bad you think your writing is, if its how she wants it, youre fine. NOT recommended

To succeed you most read the book because that is what you will be tested on in quizzes and exams. You will have to write and re-write multiple poems and stories. She gives good feedback and can seem picky at times. The best resource is your peers find a few that give good reliable feedback and your writing will get better.

Prof. Clark is a nice person. She is a very tough grader. A lot of quizzes on the chapters. A lot pf writing work also. Doesnt explain very well, and gives harsh feedback of times. If she doesnt like you much youre screwed.

Prof Clark is really great at what she does. She cares about her students and makes an effort to learn everybody's name and get to know everyone on a more personal level. If you like writing, you'll like this class.

Kiss up and she will love you. Do what she says and you will get a good grade. Even if you don't like your writing, as long as you follow her guidelines, you will get a good grade. USE IMAGERY right off the bat, cant stress that enough. Don't skip class, do the reading, endure the boring lectures, and do the writing. Not a hard class, just boring.

She's a decent teacher but a little strange, in the way that writing professor usually are. Be ready to write a lot and never know your grade unless you ask her. The criteria she bases grading on is also really vague but you can ask her in office hours. Not a bad class but there are better profs

She is easy to communicate with outside of class via email when you have questions. Grading can be random, but she did let us redo some assignments. She is not as understanding of personal situations as other profs I have had. If you did the reading assignments and poetrywriting, you passed. If you put in the work, she typically was fine with you.

This professor made me feel horrible about myself throughout the two semesters I had her. No matter how hard we tried, she was always rude and would disrespect us, her students. She was condescending to us during critiques, and was even rude to her partner instructor. She just didn't seem to think that we were worth her time.

I loath this woman. She is rude, unhelpful, condescending, disrespectful, adds on to projects last minute, expects too much, is hypocritical, and just wants you to be her. Avoid at all costs, unless you like wasting money.

This is the first semester of a four semester class and I love Patricia and my other professor. This class has great experiences. I was afraid at first that it would be difficult for people with basic artistic skills but the teachers are very understanding and accepting! It's a great class! Take it if you like art and new experiences!!!

The class was very unorganized. She's not unpleasant, but she also doesn't seem prepared. It feels like she's always just 'winging it'. The work load is light and the assignments are not very demanding. If you want a silly fluff class, this might be for you. If you want to learn, avoid this Prof.

Good Professor, if you write what she wants, you'll be all set. She picks favorites big time, which really takes away from the class (if you're not one).

Basically, you write how she wants if you want a good grade. Maybe you'll get published with her advice later in life or maybe you won't; either way, she demands a lot of imagery. It doesn't matter if your writing failed to you.

One of the worst professors I've had in college, by far the worst one I've had at Grand Valley. Wasted my time and money. Useless.

Took her for the capstone. Fun class with a lot of reading. We brought snacks to class often and applied our writing to real world discussions a lot. Class became like a group of friends hanging out instead of just a class we were required to come to.

Prof. Clark is okay. She has a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor, and the class goes fast. Not a ton of work, just two main pieces of writing at the end. I didn't mind her, so I guess I'd recommend her to anyone. She does pick favs though.

This is one of those classes where you get out of it what you put into it. Clark herself is nice enough, but vauge on assignments and she'll let you know if you're not a good writer. She doesn't spoonfeed people so the only way to do decently is to work on things in your own time or with your small group.

Comment:
Professor Clark is hilarious. You will definitely get a few laughs out of her class. She's very scatter-brained though. She doesn't follow her syllabus and it's impossible to know what's due and when things are due. Follow ALL of her comments or else she won't give you a good grade.
