Such an amazing professor. Its sad how people have to bash her because they couldnt succeed in an easy class. She is not hard on guys because she always worked great with me! Give amazing critique to do better and if you follow her you will see your progress build! I will look for her for future classes in English especially with my free elective

I absolutely loved Navina's "Who Run the World" English class. It was a class that I looked forward to every single week because of how intelligent and thoughtful she is. She creates a great learning by making everyone in her class feel comfortable enough to talk to each other as well as speak our minds. I would 10000% take another class with her.

Awesome! This was an english class, so she really gave me a deeper understanding of the literature, and really seems to understand the psychology of women. She would sometimes give pop quizzes on what we read, so make sure you read the assignments and you will pass. Her lectures are very interesting. She is a pretty easy grader in my opinion.

The class I have taken is from a feminist perspective Eng 102 and if you attend, listen to lectures and hand in assignments you will do fine. You do not have to agree with all of her views in order to get the lesson.

I had her for ENG201 and Women's Studies, and she is a very tough essay grader. I liked her ENG201 teaching style way more than in Women's Studies, because in that class she always acted like social anxiety/shyness was something to look down upon and that it was impossible to be a feminist if you aren't outspoken. Overall, nice professor.

Great professor! Had a great understanding of the literature and knew how to break it down in a way everyone would understand. She was a bit unorganized, but truly wanted everyone to succeed. Don't expect to do well if you don't do the readings and come to class unprepared though.

Very poor teacher. Told us the first day of class that if we show up to class we will pass an yet failed a lot of kids on well written assignments. Horrible hand writing, can't read or understand any feedback. She didn't want to be bothered with questions or in need of help. Do not waste your time. Find another professor.

Navina is such a great professor. Her classes were a lot of fun. Textbook is MANDATORY. You write 1 paper every 4-5 weeks. As long as you pay attention in her class, show up, and do the readings, you will pass with flying colors. She will help you with essays and is super funny! I would love to take another class taught by her.

Never heard a professor break down literature so beautifully! If you're not into reading this class isn't for you. Only assignments are readings (a lot), tests (3 or 4), & a final paper so you better know the material. Her lectures were the highlight of my week, not to mention she is extremely beautiful. Would take this class again.

If you are looking for an easy A, I do not recommend taking her, but if you're actually interested in literature and want to learn (which apparently a lot of college students don't) you will get A LOT out of her classes. She is one of the most intelligent professors that I've had and offers a lot of insight if you embrace the material. Love her.

Professor H is a pretty laid back professor. Do well on your essays, ask for help when you need it, show up for class, and you'll be fine. She's makes her lectures entertaining, short, and to the point. Would highly recommend.

she is rather mundane and boring- but overall a decent professor. very into minute details and going over things until they are painful. a decent grader, but the word counts are generally excessive for the topics she gives you. only one test really- the rest were essays to do in class. few assignments to boost your grade so you'd better do well.

Dr. Hooker is pretty nice. She explains things really well in detail. Not radically feminist like others say she is. If you don't like writing this is not the class for you. As long as you read the stories and articulate them to your understanding of them, she will give you a good grade.

Dr. Hooker isn't a radical feminist like someone else suggested. I thought she seemed quite fair to both sexes. Light work load, easy to pass as long as you show up and listen to her discussions. Barely read the text book just paid listened to her reactions in class and managed to get a B. Only flaw was she was always late and a bit unorganized.

Very blunt and honest teacher. She will tell you exactly what she wants and how she wants it. Has her own opinions but is sometimes opened to be influenced by others. Grading on essays is difficult. Very light work load though. Actually miss her as my teacher!

Comment:
If your not a good writer and you can't put in a ton of details or think outside the box when it comes to writing an essay avoid taking her class. What a B average in other English classes is a C in her English classes. Her choice in short stories are bland and hard to follow. Avoid her classes if your not an English major or a hardcore writer.
