She expects too much for a survey course. She chooses texts that the bookstore will not buyback, and as a future teacher, I would NEVER use in a classroom. She comes up with assignments in addition to the outlined ones and gives only two days for completion.

It is very unclear what she wants and I found myself spending hours trying to figure out what to do for the several projects she assigned. Projects felt like a waste of my time. Plan on using the book a lot.

The workload of this class is a bit over-bearing at times; many papers to write and various projects that overlap each other. She's not very clear on how she wants assignments done sometimes, but she is VERY knowledgable in her area. Attend class, take notes, and READ THE BOOKS. She's pretty good at telling you exactly what's on the tests.

Its sort of hard to tell when things are due but if you ask questions its fine. I attended every class and got a 98% in class. I didnt even do the textbook readings before class (unless they were novels). If you read the chapters before the test and pay attention its fine. expect to read a lot overall. she is funny and nice- i liked the class.

Dr. Stringam is difficult to like. I hated going to her class everyday till about the last month. She gives way too many assignments at once and they are due throughout the semester, but she does not give much instruction on how she wants it done. You need to read the book but she tells you what is exactly on the test. She's hard, but not terrible

All I can say is do NOT take a class with her. She is unclear. She is downright rude. She can be unnecessarily cruel to students. She told us some opinions (hers) matter more than others(yours). You do many group activities. The workload WAS manageable; this is a lit. class people! Lecture was a waste of time. She is an easy grader. You have to act

One of the best teachers I've had in college. Very helpful and interesting. She does like to talk about her personal life a lot, but shes really experienced and cultured, so its pretty interesting to listen to. Tests and easy if you study. Quizzes are easy if you read the books. Heavy workload.

ENG 334 class is an easy A if you go. She is easily accessible outside of class via email. When taking Children's Lit. with her, know that the freedom she allows on assignments is a very different style than most professors use. Definitely read materials before lectures and come with a highlighter to label vocabulary that will be on the tests.

I have an A+(97) so not biased. Not very approachable.Tests/quizzes were not that hard, if you study.Lectures are pretty pointless, but don't miss too many classes though she won't like it.Her approach to writing and grading papers is the polar opposite of every other teacher I have ever had, and I'm a JR. Won't remind you about due dates. CHECK BB.

Worst teacher I've ever had. She's not clear about what she wants at all. Expects way too much. Teaches like it's a very high level class. Doesn't relate it to education at all (although most in my class are EDU majors). HORRIBLE teacher. Take it with anybody else.

Dr. Stringam is easily the worst teacher I've ever had. I'm getting an A in the class but it's because she's an easy grader if she likes you. She explains nothing and expects everything. We had a week to read a 500 page novel. Her taste in books sucks except for a few. Take this class with Dr. Chaston.

This class is terrible. I wish I had looked on here before taking her class. Do not take it - whatever you do! The work load is ridiculous, much harder than any other class. Too much reading, and she is hard to understand. She does not give you many guidelines and is a very harsh grader. Expect to fail at everything you do for her.

I was so excited about taking this class and now I hate it. She is SO unclear and has ridiculous expectations. I do more work for this class than my grad classes. We read a novel every week, have to do a presentation on one of them, find a related article and write a 10 pg paper all while reading the novel for the next week. Don't take her.

Absolutely horrible teacher! She's so vauge, there is a massive overload of work. It feels like a graduate level class, the quizes have nothing to do with the book, and she's a harsh grader. She gives us no time to prepare the presentations we do. DON'T TAKE HER, IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR SANITY FOR THE SEMESTER!

Very very unclear as to expectations. She randomly puts things on blackboard without ever mentioning them in class and expects you to know about it. Children's lit is something I would really enjoy, if it were taught by someone else, so I'm not biased against the material. Lots of random asides when she is talking.

She doesn't explain what she is looking for at ALL. If you present a different opinion than hers you are graded down for it. She grades in "checks" and "check minus", like when we were in 3rd grade. The final had nothing to do with the material discussed in class. All we did was act, even though it was supposed to be a literature class. STAY AWAY!!

worst professor I've ever had. She's rude to her students. She talks down to everyone. If you don't agree with her opinion on everything than you get graded down. She's very unclear about what she's looking for in any assignments. She assigns more reading than we ever got to discuss. She spent half the class talking about her personal life.
