Mr bodt is really a bad teacher. I had final today with him, and the questions we not anything like the homework. He should not work at UD anymore. His lectures were hard to understand, and he makes lots of mistakes.

Barry Bodt is a wart on the ass of the University of Delaware. He should go ahead and retire or take a job at a community college somewhere. He is really not of the caliber, intellectually or pedagogically, that the other professors that I have had at UD are. Not only that, but his labs and lectures are full of errors.

This guy is actually the worst instructor that I've had in the three years I've been in college. His email correspondence is extremely unprofessional, and he is not wiling to help you out. He is more interested in trying to impress students with his qualifications and degrees than he is student success. He should really give up the teaching gig.

Horrible. You can tell he does not care about how well you do in this class or how much information you retain. Questions are made to trip you up and do not reflect what he teaches in class.

He is the worst. His exams do not reflect what he teaches in classes. Very monotone in class and can tell he could care less whether or not you pass this class. He purposefully made his exams harder when COVID-19 happened

The questions he gives on tests and quizzes are so badly worded and definitely designed to trip you up sometimes. He makes a lot of mistakes on questions, so ask him if you think something is wrong. Grades fairly, but the questions make it tough. Uses R for lecture examples which is hard to follow. Would not take his class unless required to.

His class is very boring, but he does teach to real world problems. His grading is fair but the way his questions are worded are strange and they trip you up. He does not explain anything during labs and his labs are sometimes hard to follow. Overall, his class isn't that difficult, but you have to figure out what he's trying to say in his question

Boring boring boring, his voice is so monotone and makes me want to fall asleep. I feel like I am wasting my time every time I walk into his class. Highly do NOT recommend.

Most BORING human being on planet Earth. I don't understand why computer science majors need to take this class. I feel so uninspired to learn in his class and now I pretty much hate statistics. He is a nice guy and all but his voice makes me want to fall asleep. I do not recommend taking this class at all, the course is useless and very BORING.

Barry Bodt is the most BORING person ever...I can't sit in lecture and pay attention because he just goes on and on with his monotone voice. His examples take forever to explain and make no sense and you can't even read what he's writing on the screen. The lab assignments he creates are so confusing and filled with errors. Good luck staying awake!

Comment:
Professor Bodt may very well be the most boring human on the planet. He confuses himself in R demonstrations and cannot answer his own sample problems correctly. On the bright side, he often off-loads his teaching to e-lectures, which is a pleasant respite from his painful monotony. Labs are often confusing, and exams are on the easy side.

Seems like a nice guy, but the material is incredibly boring. Lectures drag on, broken up by the occasional educational video. Labs are easy, you'll learn some R and JMP. Attendance isn't graded for lab or lecture. Tests were deceivingly difficult, and our class averages were never very good. Overall you'll probably get an A or B if you try.

Hes a nice guy, but the worst prof Ive ever had. Boring topic, boring slides, boring boring boring. The best profs have excitement for their field that gets you excited, this guy could have been sleep talking and we wouldn't have noticed. But its required for cisc majors for some dumb reason

Bodt is a chill guy, but way too chill to be teaching this class. His lectures are lazy and read straight from the slides, and does not assign problems so you'll have to put in work on your own. Makes tons of mistakes on exams and quizzes (don't get worry if you are confident in your answer), and lab instructions are unclear and hard to understand.

Most boring professor the school employs teaching the most boring class the school offers. Sitting through his lectures are almost impossible. He posts homework and quizzes without any notice, and they're up for a very short time frame. I dread attending this class.

He has no energy when he does lectures and he puts the minimal effort into teaching. If you trust his lectures to learn the class, you will fail. READ THE BOOK CHAPTERS AND DO THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS. I taught myself in one day about this class than his lectures did all semester.

Comment:
Professor Bodt has good intentions. However, the class is at a horrible time every semester, 7-8:30 pm MW and additional lab 6-7 pm Mondays. Being offered at that late time makes it hard to concentrate as it is, but he is just boring. He doesn't explain the material very clearly. Make sure to do ALL the homework problems, not just the assigned one.

This might just be the most boring class I have ever taken in my life. Quizzes aren't that bad and neither is the homework. The tests can be difficult if your not prepared, But its hard to be prepared for a class that bores you to death.

Comment:
Bodt straight up reads off of the powerpoint slides provided by the book which makes going to class optional. Make sure to complete the labs which he grades mostly on completion and not on correctness. Do not try to google his quiz questions for the take home quizzes as the answers I found always seemed to be wrong. Allows cheat sheets on tests.
