ZOMG! The handwriting, I cant believe how someone can have that bad of handwriting and still teach. Overall, the guy knows his stuff. At times he moves too fast. His homeworks and tests are a bit challenging. However, he does give an asinine amount of extra credit. (120pts.) He also drops 10 of the 40 homeworks. If you want a challenge, go for it.

just dont. hes a nice guy outside of class, but he does not bend at all when it comes to grades. he will really nit pick at your tests/hws/etc. and take off way too many points. his writing is incomprehensible. seriously, unless you had some brilliant teachers that prepared you for this just dont do it.

A word of advice from a former student of his. I had him for math 140 & 141.If you want an A and dont give a [email protected]#$ about learning calculus, I highly recommend buying a TI-89 calculator. Then buy a $30 calculus software from education.ti.com. This will give you an A cause it give you the answers to the test regardless of what question is on the test.

TOUGH! He is smart but hard to understand. Makes fun of you for asking questions and not understanding something. His tests are straight out of hell, and so is his homework. He makes you do things you haven't learned yet, and nickle and dimes your points. He wants you to fail. Only good thing is that he is funny. If you want a challenge, take McVoy

Comment:
Does not create an environment conducive to learning. Discourages students from asking questions. Frequently leaves the classroom while giving lectures. Will make random comments that are often irrelevant to the material being taught. If you want to learn the material, do not take McVoy.

If you can't get a A in this class you might be retarded. He gives 120 points of easy extra credit. His tests are long and challenging however. His final was a joke though.

Not helpful. Deliberately doesn't present lessons clearly and doesn't care much if you do well. ??s aren't encouraged bc he doesn't answer them. Not that helpful during office hours. HW worksheets right out of text. Tests are hw almost verbatim. Use text as a reference. Even better: find an IST major who took the class and get their notes and hw.

Comment:
This guy is crazy. He teachs this class like a Math 140 class. His tests are crazy, but he does offer 50points in extra cerdit. You can not read his hand writing and he makes a lot of mistakes when writing on the board. He does like everyone to try and understand what hes doing but he doesnt do a good job of teaching it. Do not recommend taking him
