Dr. Lutzer is an amazing professor, I cannot emphasize enough how much he cares about his students being successful in his classes. Linear algebra is NOT an easy class and he's well aware of this, so going to his office hours is an absolute necessity. If you're struggling he will go out of his way to make sure you grasp the material. 10/10 prof

Professor Lutzer was a tough grader. His lectures were incredibly disorganized and the homework had absolutely nothing to do with the lectures themselves. The only positive aspect of his class was how he included solutions to some selected questions from the homework. If you really want to learn linear algebra take this class with someone else.

One of the best professors I've ever had. He really lets it be known that he cares about how every single one of his students do in his class. He wants everyone to succeed and will help you with it. His office hours are a god send. He does give a lot of hw, but it's for a good reason. One of the kindest most caring professors I've ever had.

Dr. Lutzer is wonderful. He lectures in comprehensive terms and adds humor to make things a little less boring. Additionally, he genuinely cares for his students. The posts that you might see that reflect him negatively come from students who were most likely overwhelmed by the intensity of his class, which is true, he is intense, but for a reason.

This professor uses the worst online homework system ever which is webassign. He also assigns matlab modules which is a computer program that is very hard and pointless to use. The professor says it is used all the time by many people. I have asked many people and nobody has ever heard of it before.

Prof. Lutzer is a great professor who makes it his personal goal to help the class succeed and understand material, rather than memorize it. Going to his office hours can be a real life-saver for getting started on projects and homework assignments. Definitely one of the most effective professors I've had. Take his class and you won't regret it.

Frequently references "Lutzerland," perhaps the most magical place on earth. Loves hockey, which makes some of the lectures later on much more interesting while providing a use for the stuff learned in class. AMAZING when it comes to using correct terminology and really hammering proper technique into you from day one. Great with questions. 10/10.

His lectures are really great: he is always funny, but even his jokes have a purpose for the class. The fact that he give a lot or real-life examples makes the content easier to be absorbed. He will expect a lot from you so, if you are looking for a easy grader, he might not be a good choice. The worksheets are a golden study material

Lutzer is by far the best mathematics professor I have encountered at RIT. I took Linear Algebra with him over the summer, and it was fast, intense, stimulating and rewarding. Take a course with Lutzer if you want to be inspired to learn math like never before. Homework due every class, non-cumulative final exam, MATLAB assignments.

He gives worksheets that are extremely difficult and suggests that students use them to prepare for the tests, when they don't really pertain at all. He has few office hours and doesn't even show up to them. He's a tough grader, and strings students along with the hope that they can replace a test with the final (extremely hard). 0/10 don't do it.

Dr. Lutzer is the best math professor I've had.. He is passionate about the material he teaches and explains it very well in order to make every student understand. His class is not easy as he states in the first class, but if you're willing to work and learn it is a must for calculus. He is very approachable, a fair grader and an awesome professor

This professor is passionate about math and does a great job applying it to the technical field. I noticed that no students report grades on this site, so they must be rating early in the course? Somehow I have, so far, failed every quiz but aced every exam, probably because he actually gives you TIME to do to the exam but not to do quizzes!

He took the foundation of all the calc I knew, broke it and built it back up. Stronger and sturdier. His class is really hard and homework is "optional" (he doesn't check them) but if you don't you'll be really confused. I made the mistake and slept through a lecture. Woke up confused and lost. Test are hard but he will help you. PAY ATTENTION
