Comment:
This was my least favorite class I've taken at GV. I'm sure Scott is a nice guy, but it's clear he does not want to be in class. He is not a great teacher and is very unapproachable. The hands-on style is cool but there are only so many roles that can be filled, meaning half the class has to stand around or do very little.

He definitely knows what he's doing, though it's a little clear he's been teaching it for a while because his enthusiasm is minimal. Project guidelines were a little confusing at times and his study guide for the final does little to prepare you for the exam.

Scott's aight. The hands on stuff is pretty cool. His Vhs tapes on lighting are pretty boring. Overall, I have a much better understanding on lighting and I'd recommend the class.

Scott know lighting like the back of his hand. He's hard to talk to, yeah a times but he's not going to rip you head off, well maybe if you wreck some equipment. Overall you will learn lighting and its importance to Film. I recommend taking him just so you can experience it. Projects are graded on effort and the use of light. Just do your best

Scott is NOT a professor. He's profesional, He knows the material and the equipment. But he has no teaching ability at all. It's clear he dosen't want to be in the classroom. He's rude, cold and cranky. I'm sure there are a select few students who break his shell but the rest he treats like crap. AVOID!!

I hated this class. I did have interest in it but the way he teaches it just makes you want to shoot yourself in the foot. He can be very rude and isn't very open. But he does know his craft pretty well.

The definition of unapproachable. But I think deep down, 'somewhere where you don't talk about at parties,' He's a nice guy. He's smart and like the subject he teaches.

Scott is a professional when it comes to lighting. You respect him, he respects you. Very protective of equipment and studio, as he should be. He is nice, and kind, compared to people in the real world of Hollywood and broadcast. I like Scott overall, he is a great guy and a great resource.

Nice guy! A little protective of studio--but he puts a lot of time into it! Straightforward class. Explains with patience--pay attention, HELP SET UP/TAKE DOWN, and you'll be fine!!

Puts a lot of effort into the studio and appreciates when students do the same. Friendly and helpful when you approach him. Loves taking huge ideas and getting them to work. I'd take him again in a second!

Scott's pretty cool. There's a lot of downtime but that's only because set up and organizing takes a while. Most of the class is hands on as opposed to anything lectured. A good intro to broadcasting.
