Comment:
Easily the best professor I've ever had. Econ 303 is a difficult class because the topics are so complicated & varied, but Professor Stafford was able to explain every detail in a way that was easily digestible. Entire class is graded by two midterms & the final, but those are all based on the problem sets. Didn't open the book once all semester.

Attendance isn't mandatory, but don't skip class because the lectures are super helpful and the textbook isn't as much. The only assignments are problem sets which aren't graded on accuracy, and the only actual grades are 3 exams (which are pretty similar to the problem sets). She is pretty easygoing professor, but the content is difficult.

Professor Stafford is easily one of the best professors I've ever had. Knowledgeable, witty, and fantastic at explaining things in an understandable way. Don't buy the textbook; it's terrible and she goes everything you need to know in class anyway. Midterms/final are very similar to the problem sets. I truly cannot recommend her strongly enough.

Seriously, the best professor I have had and best class I have taken at W&M. I took this in the Fall of 2019, and Professor Stafford cares immensely for her students. The textbook is used, but the readings are about 15 pages long at the maximum and its like $20. I rarely spoke up in other classes, but she helps you so much to find your stride.

Seems completely disinterested and detached from student concerns. Unwilling to discuss concerns during office hours. Generally unpleasant to several classmates. Grades seemed to arbitrarily punish those students whom she didn't like, regardless of actual work done.

One of the most agreeable professors at the College. This seminar was the first of its kind, but was very rewarding. Grade based off peer evaluation and self-evaluation/contribution to the project. Be willing to help and kind and you'll do well.

Lectures are interesting, funny, and very helpful in explaining concepts. Readings are pretty light. Tests are focused more on applying concepts rather than memorizing stuff. The paper is pretty easy to write. Got an A in the class just by going and keeping up with the 10 page chapters. I recommend taking the class with her.

Going to class is necessary, as she explains everything needed for the problem sets and exams. You learn a decent amount, and the exams and problem sets are pretty easy. The only point I would make is that in certain cases she grades rather difficultly, especially on the problem sets, marking off large quantities of points for small errors.

Smart, energetic woman who likes her field. Teaches entirely by lecture, the book is rubbish. GO TO CLASS, you'll need the notes--every problem set/exam problem is gone over in class previously. Doesn't post old midterms tho, but her exams are straightforward and doably brief. Extremely approachable, even entertaining. Excellent prof.

A top professor. This is my third class with Professor Stafford. In all classes I find her lectures very interesting and very clear. She has great interest in what she teachers and her enthusiasm is evident. She is also among the best at walking through difficult math problems. Finally, she is one of the most accessible professor's outside class.

She's exteremely nice. It was my worst grade, because I'm dyslexic, and I kept drawing the graphs backwards. I wouldn't have passed without her giving me help in her office hours. However, my friends who don't have learning disablities didn't do much better in the course. So, don't take it unless you need to. It tends to weed out government majors.

Great class. Prof. Stafford is very intelligent, and it shows. My appreciation for her increased with each class. Nothing too 'unusual' about the way class was run-- just a nice, standard lecture offering in a topic of increasing interest. Subject matter not particularly difficult to get a hang of. Worth taking if you're environment-friendly!
