This teacher is awful. He picks out themes for the stories you read, and sometimes his themes don't make sense, and he doesn't do a good job of explaining. Not helpful in any way, and he's very dull. I fall asleep almost every class period. Use his themes on the test, or you won't do well. Awful teacher.

Do not take any classes with this teacher. He is a horrible teacher. Most of the class is spent listening to his incoherent rambling about nothing related to the material. When you ask a question he treats you like you?re an idiot, and when you answer a question he makes fun of you. His class will lower your GPA, avoid him!

Okay, there is a lot to say about this instructor but this is, an easy A class if you do two things, take the very few notes he gives, and read "UP" on the stories. It's not enough to just read the stories because he will tell you you're wrong. The quiz's are the things that will infuriate you.. Just be patient and study the material HE gives you.

He is the worst teacher I have ever had. I hate this class with a passion and I feel bad for who ever has to take his class. I honestly do not learn anything in this class, and the whole class is failing. This guy is so old and he is about to croke when he talks. Absolutely horrible. Everyday is the most pointless lecture and if you are still coherent at the end you will realize that you have learned nothing. This joke of a professor is out to fail every student because nobody on Earth is on the same English level as this guy. Only take this class if you like throwing away your money.

He is a terrible teacher. He mumbles and is never on subject. His quizes are easy as long as you read the material. I don't think he knows how to teach. Our class is about learning to find the themes in storeis but instead of helping students to understand he just tells us we're wrong. I took this class at 8am and it was impossible to stay awake.

I hated this class. He mumbles 2 himself all the time. DO NOT TAKE HIM. He says it's easy but it's no where close. He gives credit quizes out and you get either A,B, or nothing. The credit quiz is basically your opinion and you are most likely going to get it wrong. He is rude & needs to stop teaching. This class is WORTHLESS & will lower ur GPA.

He is one of the few people that can make me laugh at 8am, but he makes absolutely no sense. He counts attendance (and hardly anything else) so show up, and try not to weep out of boredom and horrible rambling.

Monahan was a really terrible teacher. The only way to make an A in his class is to act like ur interested in his extremly off topic conversations such as foot ball and knock knock jokes. The themes that he gave for his stories were just crazy, something like southern women are psyco murderers. He is nice but a terrible teacher.

This man should have retired a LOOOOOONG time ago! I made the mistake of taking this as an 8am and it made me wonder why I even got up this early to hear an old man babble about random things. He may actually hit the subject topic with 10-15 min. remaining in the class. Waste of money! Do not take Monahan! Absolutely AWFUL!

I really disliked this class! If you dont have the same opinion as him, dont plan on getting credit.I've taken similar classes to this and flew through it with an A, this class i struggled to keep a C. don't take his class, he rambles and you never know what he's talking about but you're expected to write exactly what he said for the test.

The absolute worst teacher I have ever had. He wants our opinions, but then makes fun of them when we speak up. On the tests, you have to write pretty much word for word what he thinks or you won't get credit. I'm an English Ed major and I absolutely hated this class. Under NO circumstances should you take any class with Monahan.
