In terms of encouragement and caring about her students, this Professor is amazing! However if you dont like the idea of writing a 20 field journal in a span of 6 weeks, I dont recommend. It was a lot of work for me especially with all the additional classes I have and it was just an unpleasant, stressful, and overwhelming experience.

I really like this professor, I thought I was gonna have a bad experience because the class seems really hard. But the professor proved me wrong she is very respectful she was very caring. she checked up on us and gave us credit for responding to simple questions. She really cares for her students. I would recommend her.

First let me state that the course I took was compressed into 6 weeks, so it was a lot of work and required daily assignments submitted. However with that said, this professor WANTS you to succeed. She drops the 5 lowest participation grades and lowest test grade. In reality I should've had a C in her class, but her extra credit boosted me to an A.

Professor Bishop is so sweet and caring. I took her online 6 week course and it sure is ALOT of work. She lets you know what is expected and at the end of the class a huge paper is due. However, the paper you write about isnt hard. Its actually very interesting. If you take the class make sure you get a planner and be organized! Would recommend!

She is very well respected. She gives good feedback on all assignments. Clear grading criteria on the research paper. Drops the five lowest participation grades. I would take her again and recommend her to other students.

I'm sure that she is an awesome teacher in a traditional classroom. Which is good unless you specifically are an online student for non-traditional reasons. Participation is unrelated to the chapter tests and only related to the final journal. It's like having two separate classes... with the added stress of worrying what she will be ocd about next

Karen Bishop is a wonderful professor. For sociology, she makes you read a chapter or two every night and write a short essay on it, but it is honestly not that difficult. Her grading technique is clear. She is always ready to help her students. Her lectures are very eye opening. She's very passionate about what she teaches, knows what she's doing.

I enjoyed her class. She is very understanding and involved. There is a lot of work doing a field journal but as long as you keep up with it , it isn't a big deal!!!! So my suggestion is get ahead on field journal, communicate, and go to class! I loved her!

Karen Bishop is a wonderful professor and overall a wonderful person. I took her class during the Fall 2017 semester and was amazed at her professionalism and her kindness. It was a 6-week class that discussed gender and society. I fell behind a bit and expressed my concerns with her and she helped me power through it and was very encouraging.

She assigns a great deal of busy work which takes away time from the important assignments that she emphasizes. But overall she is a nice professor just wish she'd do away with all the unnecessary work.

Bishop was not helpful at all. The course could be completed with an A WITHOUT her help. I emailed her numerous times and never received a response; She was not online for our SCHEDULED live chats; And she made us do a peer review of the final assignment and we never received the feedback. She basically used us to make her grading easier.

Took her soci 102 class online and it was a lot of work keeping up with assignments but other than this was a REALLY simple class. Easy essays and assignments. She wasn't really helpful since we never met but she is quick with answering emails. I recommend taking this class to boost your gpa and if you actually want to have fun writing essays.

Karen Bishop is a rare find! She is an amazing person, and a great teacher. If you are not scared off by having to do a moderately high amount of work TAKE THIS TEACHER! She has become someone I consider a friend, a mentor, a motivator, and she can relate as a person. If you like the idea of sociology, she is the onlyteace to take it with!

She was a very good teacher. I took her SOC101 in class and her Woman Soc127 online. She was very helpful and very understanding if you were sick or had and emergency, she would let you make up this under these circumstances. Overall pretty fare teacher and not bias at all. Knew her material and was a good teacher.

Professor Bishop offers a great course in Sociology. I took her online, and she made the course very understandable. There is some paper writing which must be done MLA format, so be aware! The exams are easy if you read the chapter. The work load that Bishop gives is intermediate. You learn enough if you are a Sociology major, but it is easy if you aren't.

I'm stuck between recommending Mrs. Bishop. I left her class with such a positive education however the process was very hard. She is a very hyper woman who loves her subject. For those who are interested in sociology and don't mind work then I recommend her but those who just want an A I wouldn't because there's a ton of work and lots of reading.
